We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer II — ideally with a background in FinTech — to play a pivotal role in strengthening the very heart of our payments engine.Your work won’t just be about clean code: it will drive end-to-end automation in payment processing (from 0 to 80%), reduce manual effort in FX trading, and deliver clear visibility into significant yearly savings. By automating and optimising processes, you’ll enable our Payments Operations team to focus on higher-value, ROI-driven work — multiplying your impact across the business.What You’ll Do<ul><li>✍️ Design, build, and maintain clean, secure, testable, and scalable code</li><li>🐞 Resolve challenging bugs and production issues, ensuring reliability of the global platform</li><li>🧠 Evaluate complex technical problems, using sound judgement to select the right methods and approaches</li><li>⚡ Improve performance and scalability of our systems as we expand worldwide</li><li>🤖 Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and unlock measurable business savings</li><li>🤝 Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape product vision and deliver real business value</li><li>🌱 Mentor teammates and take initiative in leading technical projects</li><li>🔎 Support recruitment efforts by helping identify and inspire great engineering talent</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3>What We’re Looking For<ul><li>8+ years of experience in professional software engineering.</li><li>Proven experience with scalable, performant, and reliable distributed systems.</li><li>Strong background in TDD, BDD, CI/CD practices.</li><li>Understanding of relational databases.</li><li>Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design.</li><li>Excellent collaboration skills across functions (QA, Product, SRE, Stakeholders).</li><li>A passion for delivering high-quality code and a mindset of continuous learning.</li><li>FinTech or payments industry experience is a major plus.</li></ul>Technologies We Use ⚙️<ul><li>Backend: Ruby, Java</li><li>Frontend: HTMX, React</li><li>Databases &amp; systems: Linux, MySQL, Postgres, Redis, AMQP, OpenSearch</li><li>Cloud: AWS</li></ul>⚡ Why Join Us?
