This is a hands-on technical leadership role with broad impact — ideal for someone who is local to the Bay Area and excited to collaborate in person with our R&amp;D and leadership teams.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><b>*Visa sponsorship is NOT available at this time</b></div><h3>What You’ll Do:</h3><ul><li>Define and own quality strategies, standards, and practices for complex product and platform initiatives.</li><li>Drive test architecture and tooling — from automated frameworks to CI/CD quality gates.</li><li>Lead cross-functional quality initiatives that span multiple engineering teams.</li><li>Act as a technical mentor to other QEs and developers around quality best practices.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Dev, PM, and UX to shift quality left and catch issues early.</li><li>Design and implement robust automation for UI, API, and backend systems.</li><li>Design and implement performance, load, stress, soak, and scalability tests for backend services built on <a href="http://Node.js">Node.js</a> and MongoDB.</li><li>Define and automate Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) validation in CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Build and extend performance testing frameworks using tools like k6, Artillery, Gatling, JMeter, or custom <a href="http://Node.js">Node.js</a> scripts.</li><li>Conduct system profiling and analyze results using tools such as Coralogix, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.</li><li>Establish performance SLAs and ensure services meet them in production-like environments.</li><li>Contribute to overall test strategy, especially where performance and resilience intersect with functional quality.</li><li>Analyze production issues and work with stakeholders to improve monitoring, observability, and incident prevention.</li></ul><h3>What You’ll Bring:</h3><ul><li>8+ years in Software Quality Engineering, including experience leading quality for major products or platforms.</li><li>Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript or Java — with a deep understanding of modern test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, REST-assured).</li><li>Deep knowledge of software testing methodologies, performance/load testing, and systems-level thinking.</li><li>Track record of influencing engineering culture and product quality through leadership and collaboration.</li><li>Comfortable working in a hybrid setup with the ability to meet onsite with engineering leadership in the Bay Area.</li><li>Hands on experience with tools like Artillery, JMeter, Gatling</li><li>Hands-on experience with MongoDB performance tuning and profiling.</li><li>Deep knowledge of HTTP, REST, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.</li><li>Solid understanding of system resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk, network) under load.</li><li>Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Harness).</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.</li></ul><h3>Nice to Haves:</h3><ul><li>Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).</li><li>Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS, containers, microservices)</li><li>Experience working in fintech, accounting, or SaaS B2B domains.</li><li>Exposure to chaos engineering or failure testing.</li><li>Knowledge of distributed tracing and profiling tools (e.g., Jaeger, OpenTelemetry).</li><li>Knowledge of security and compliance testing practices.</li></ul><div><span>#BI-Remote</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>#LI-Hyrbid</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>#LI-JM1</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>This job posting is for our Staff Software Development Engineer in Test, the base pay range for this position is $144,000 - $216,000.  Compensation is not limited to base salary.
