Job Description:We seek a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Design Project Manager with a strong background in mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of data center projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.<div>Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:</div><ul><li>Project Management:<ul><li>Lead and manage data center design projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.</li><li>Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.</li><li>Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Design and Engineering:<ul><li>Oversee the mechanical engineering aspects of data center design, including HVAC, cooling systems, and energy efficiency measures.</li><li>Work closely with electrical and structural engineers to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions.</li><li>Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Technical Expertise:<ul><li>Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations.</li><li>Review and approve design documents, specifications, and drawings.</li><li>Review Submittals for accuracy, adherence to specifications and omissions.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Vendor Management:<ul><li>Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.</li><li>Evaluate and select suppliers for mechanical systems and components.</li><li>Monitor and ensure quality control of materials and workmanship.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Sustainability and Innovation:<ul><li>Promote sustainable design practices and innovative technologies to enhance data center performance.</li><li>Implement energy-saving initiatives and support the company’s sustainability goals.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Quality Assurance:<ul><li>Ensure rigorous quality assurance processes are followed throughout the project.</li><li>Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation.</li><li>Prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure proper handover of completed projects to operations teams.</li></ul></li></ul><div>Required Qualifications:</div><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center design and project management.</li><li>Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and energy management.</li><li>Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.</li><li>Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore).</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.</li></ul><div>Preferred Qualifications:</div><ul><li>Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.</li><li>6+ years of experience in data center design and project management</li></ul><div>Physical Requirements:  </div><ul><li>Ability to sit for extended periods of time</li><li>Walk or Stand for 50% of the time</li><li>Moderate or advanced keyboard usage</li><li>Lift 50 lbs.</li><li>Travel 10% of the time</li></ul>Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $140,000 - $175,000.
