You will also assist the Operations Engineering zSeries leaders in reviewing software requirements and establishing technical direction and business strategy for the department.What youll do:<ul><li>Work with senior team members to perform problem determination and resolution, capture and transmit system dumps, closely work with vendor’s technical support, and work with other mainframe-based technical teams on production roll-out</li><li>Work with internal customers to clarify technical requests, testing and validation, and project support needs</li><li>Work with capacity and performance teams in proactively addressing potential performance issues impacting service levels</li><li>Work with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents</li><li>Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and provide on call support</li><li>Perform problem analysis and resolution</li><li>Ensure availability and performance objectives, as required by customers and management are maintained for operating systems and for system software components</li><li>Provide informal project management for complex projects, provide training to clients and colleagues, assist the Operations Engineering zSeries leaders in reviewing software requirements and establishing technical direction and business strategy for the department</li></ul>Experience youll need to have:<ul><li>8+ years of experience with the application of z/OS systems configuration with ISV software tools</li><li>7+ years of experience with ISV software, such as Synscort MFX or CA-Endevor</li><li>7+ years of experience with JCL, UNIX Shell, and IBM system utilities</li><li>Bachelors degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience</li></ul>Experience that would be great to have:<ul><li>Strong understanding of transmission methods and software</li><li>Experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated industries</li></ul>Important info about this role: <ul><li>All offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks.
