You will identify and own research directions, build high‑quality prototypes, and partner with Engineering to translate validated findings into production‑ready solutions.</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Define and own the research strategy for detecting sophisticated bots across browser, behavioral, and network layers.</li> <li>Design and run experiments, build research tooling, and validate detection hypotheses with rigorous measurement.</li> <li>Analyze how advanced scrapers and bot operators work, and develop effective countermeasures and evasion‑resistant signals.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to prioritize a roadmap and graduate proven concepts into production.</li> <li>Track the evolving anti‑bot landscape and publish internal briefs, benchmarks, and guidance.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>You have</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Proven experience working with sophisticated bots from multiple angles, for example:</li> <ul> <li>Building or analyzing scrapers and automation frameworks</li> <li>Developing or bypassing bot avoidance and mitigation systems</li> <li>Detecting and attributing automated traffic at scale</li> </ul> <li>Deep knowledge in several of the following areas:</li> <ul> <li>Browser fingerprinting and client integrity</li> <li>Behavioral signal design and anomaly detection</li> <li>Network‑level bot detection, traffic analysis, and reputation</li> <li>Anti‑bot evasion techniques and counter‑evasion design</li> </ul> <li>Strong reverse‑engineering skills, including JavaScript deobfuscation.</li> <li>Solid understanding of web security and privacy mechanisms.</li> <li>Ability to move from ambiguous problem statements to clear experiments and measurable outcomes.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication in English.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Nice to have</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience red‑teaming bot defenses or operating detection systems in production.</li> <li>Contributions to open‑source security, scraping, or detection tooling.</li> <li>Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript for browser research and Go for backend prototyping.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Tech we use</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Frontend:</strong> TypeScript</li> <li><strong>Backend:</strong> Go</li> </ul> <p>If you’re excited to shape the strategy and signals that keep bots out while preserving real users’ experiences, we’d love to hear from you.</p><div><p><em>We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers.
