As a Staff Client Multiplatform Engineer, youll be a technical leader shaping the architecture of our entire betting platform. Youll define technical strategy across multiple teams while maintaining hands-on technical excellence. This role requires someone who can balance deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and cross-functional influence. Youll lead by example, establishing best practices for AI-assisted development while building systems that handle millions of events daily. Responsibilities <ul> <li>Contribute to the development, testing, documentation, and deployment of high-quality, scalable software into production</li> <li>Develop a comprehensive understanding of the industry, product, and roadmap, leveraging this knowledge to contribute to team strategy and provide input on the direction of the organization</li> <li>Execute the end-to-end technical implementation of complex features and systems, from ideation and architecture to deployment and refinement across backend &amp; frontend.</li> <li>Partner closely with our client platform team who helps define &amp; grow our client standards, best practices and shared ui experience library platform across the organization.</li> <li>Partner closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to make impactful technical decisions that align with both business goals and long-term scalability</li> <li>Participate in incident resolution as part of the on-call rotation, ensuring swift diagnosis and remediation of critical software issues</li> <li>Proactively identify and remove roadblocks, supporting cross-team collaboration to maintain momentum on complex projects</li> <li>Conduct thorough code reviews, sharing expertise to enhance code quality</li> <li>Actively participate in team planning and design discussions, contributing innovative approaches to solve technical challenges and optimize design patterns</li> <li>Drive improvements to software quality, testability, operational metrics, and team documentation, raising the standard within the team</li> <li>Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth on the team</li> <li>Leverage AI tools to accelerate development velocity while maintaining code quality standards</li> <li>Follow and contribute to team standards for AI tool usage (prompt patterns, code review checklists, validation strategies)</li> <li>Track and share insights on AI tool effectiveness through concrete metrics (PR velocity, bug rates, test coverage)</li> <li>Identify and prevent common AI-generated code pitfalls (over-abstraction, missing edge cases, security vulnerabilities)</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li>6-7 years building highly scalable Android apps and professional experience with backend microservices and distributed systems in Kotlin</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Kotlin language features especially coroutines, flows, idioms, and best practices with the ability to contribute to best practices and mentor peers in its effective use</li> <li>Some exposure to building full-stack applications</li> <li>Solid understanding of reactive programming patterns and asynchronous data processing</li> <li>Proficiency in Gradle build systems, including multi-module projects, custom plugins, and dependency management</li> <li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, SDK versioning strategies, and automated release management for mobile applications and libraries</li> <li>The bulk of our frontend business logic strategy relies on Kotlin Multiplatform (KM). This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award. *Salary range is listed in USD; actual salary will vary based on location. *Salary Range: $144,000 - $282,000 per year (actual salary will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location).
