Role Overview  The Senior UX Researcher will lead research initiatives that shape how millions of fans discover, shop, and engage with their favorite teams and products across our digital ecosystem. This role combines deep user empathy with analytical rigor to guide experience design and product decisions across the Fanatics Commerce platform. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering to turn fan insights into meaningful product improvements that enhance conversion, loyalty, and satisfaction. How you will make an impact: <ul> <li>Lead research for a major product domain (e.g., personalization, checkout, loyalty, or subscription experiences), serving as the primary research advisor for that area.</li> <li>Own domain-level research programs from concept through launch — including multi-phase generative and evaluative studies to explore fan motivations, shopping behaviors, and decision drivers.</li> <li>Shape roadmap direction by uncovering actionable insights that guide prioritization, inform KPIs, and improve end-to-end fan experience.</li> <li>Influence at the strategic level — connecting research findings to larger commerce goals such as increasing repeat purchase, reducing friction, and enhancing fan engagement across web and app experiences.</li> <li>Design and execute mixed-method research plans using qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, behavioral analytics).</li> <li>Partner with senior stakeholders to translate research insights into opportunities that drive measurable business outcomes.</li> <li>Mentor other researchers and designers in applying user-centered research methods and storytelling practices that elevate team impact.</li> </ul> What you bring to the team: <ul> <li>6–8+ years of UX or product research experience, ideally within eCommerce, retail, or consumer digital platforms</li> <li>Expertise across both generative (e.g., field studies, diary studies, journey mapping) and evaluative (e.g., usability testing, prototype validation, A/B testing) research</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and design decisions at scale</li> <li>Experience synthesizing complex data into clear, compelling narratives that drive action among senior audiences</li> <li>Familiarity with tools such as User Testing, Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop, Figma, Amplitude, and SQL is a plus</li> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field</li> </ul> What Success Looks Like: <ul> <li>Research insights directly inform roadmap prioritization and new feature development.</li> <li>Fan experience metrics (e.g., satisfaction, conversion, repeat purchase) improve as a result of research-led design decisions.</li> <li>The researcher is recognized as a strategic thought partner across Product and Design leadership.</li> <li>Research programs provide both tactical improvements and long-term fan experience insights that shape our platform vision.</li> </ul> At Fanatics, we value transparency and honesty. The salary for this position is between $115,000 and $140,000 per year, in compliance with Californias salary transparency requirements. This range reflects the expected compensation based on qualifications, experience, and location.
