The Role
The Analyst, FP&A for Fanatics Corporate will interface with leadership across all business units in the organization. The position initially reports to the Director of FP&A and is located in New York City. The ideal candidate should have an advanced understanding of finance, including complex accounting concepts and financial modeling. Experience with people/workforce planning, treasury, debt and equity financing are all considered strong pluses. Of utmost importance is the ability to be an effective and reliable communication liaison between different stakeholder groups to ensure transparency and accountability.
The candidate will be involved in the creation and management of our monthly forecast process. The broader Fanatics finance team will use the FP&A monthly forecast process for investor outreach, cash flow insights, and Board reviews of performance. In this role, you will use your analytical skills, technology proficiency, business savvy and financial chops to influence business performance. You will consolidate results in a standard manner across our commerce, collectibles, betting & gaming, and other businesses. The candidate will be critical to the success of our annual operating plan process where we distill the core drivers of value creation into the requisite investment needs for the upcoming investment cycle and then ensure adherence to these goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with the forecasting process and own portions of the financial forecast models, including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and supporting schedules/analyses. Ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy
- Support month-end close process and analyze actual performance vs. plan, prior year, and current forecast
- Support the creation of the annual and multi-year strategic and financial plans
- Build and maintain financial models to support forecast analysis
- Develop, maintain and update KPI dashboards for review with senior management
- Assist with the preparation of Senior Management presentations/meetings
- Perform ad-hoc analyses on all aspects of Fanatics businesses and subsidiaries
- Respond to information requests with thorough, organized, and fact-based work product supporting key observations, assumptions, and conclusions
- Identify and develop opportunities for process efficiencies and automation
- Codify recurring FP&A processes into standard operating procedure documents
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a monthly forecast calendar and consolidation process with interim milestones and submissions from all Fanatics business ventures
What Were Looking For:
- BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 2+ years of finance experience, with at least 1 year in an FP&A role
- Prior investment banking experience strongly preferred
- Comfort managing several projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Experience with planning and budgeting tools such as Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Oracle EPM, or similar ERP tools a plus
- CPA nice-to-have
- Comfortable manipulating and drawing insight from large data sets from disparate sources
- Results-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful team player at ease in a dynamic collaborative environment
- Blend of financial, strategy, business analysis, and project management skills
- Committed to transparency and collaboration
- Able to interact well with internal associates at all levels and across multiple lines of business
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office software with expert Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Flexibility for some travel
- Expectation to be on-site in the New York office 4 days per week
Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. To provide our employees with flexibility, we offer a unique benefit where employees at Fanatics corporate entity can work remotely for up to four weeks per year, which can be taken in daily or weekly increments.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
