If you believe in community, come join ours. </div>About this role We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior FullStack Software Engineer to join our Discovery pillar. In this role, you will be a critical cross-functional team member dedicated to helping retailers discover supplies for their stores. Our team develops browse solutions that enable retailers to shop by various dimensions and generate idea-rich results pages, bringing clarity to broad concepts. What you’ll do  <ul> <li>Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to significantly contribute to the success of Faires business and engineering platform.</li> <li>Product Ownership: Share ownership of our product, contributing to ongoing improvements that enhance the customer experience.</li> <li>Technical Leadership: Help define the teams technical direction and roadmap, influencing the overall strategic direction of our engineering efforts.</li> <li>Technical Improvements: Identify, prioritize, and drive technical improvements through multi-month projects that enhance the platforms performance and scalability.</li> <li>Framework Development: Contribute to setting the technical direction of our server-driven UI framework. Design and execute engineering solutions that align with framework goals, ensuring scalability and broad adoption.</li> <li>Backend Development: Unblock self by contributing to backend development, specially presentation layer, of server-driven UI functionalities and applications.</li> <li>Performance Optimization: Optimize horizontal frameworks for peak performance and scalability. Work with state-of-the-art technologies such as Next.js, applying in-depth knowledge of frontend and backend performance techniques.</li> <li>Mentorship: Mentor fellow developers by sharing industry best practices and fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li>5+ years of experience </li> <li>Proficient in HTML, CSS, Typescript, and frameworks/libraries like React</li> <li>Extensive experience in fullstack development, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies.</li> <li>Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques </li> <li>Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, from conception through execution.</li> <li>A passion for creating high-quality, scalable, and performant code.</li> <li>A bachelors degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience </li> <li>A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems</li> </ul> Technologies we use and teach  <ul> <li>Typescript, Kotlin</li> <li>React, Next.js </li> <li>Jest, cypress.io</li> </ul> Salary Range Canada: the pay range for this role is $156,000 - $214,500 per year.  This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future. <div>Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Effective starting in January 2026, employees will be expected to go into the office on a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
