<p>We’re looking for an exceptional Sr. Manager, Commercial Sales Engineering to expand and lead our global commercial sales engineering organization. You will manage our existing sales engineers and help us to grow and strengthen the team. You know that success in this role requires partnership with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, ensuring that the sales team has the support to close the right deals, and set our customers up for success.</p> <p>You ensure that the capabilities that Expel provides are accurately and effectively mapped to customer needs during the sales process. You see to it that the team has the technical resources they need to qualify success and that PoVs act as the springboard for a customer’s success. Through this process, you equip the Customer Success organization with the ability to provide long-term success with each customer’s unique requirements mapped to Expel capabilities.</p> <p>Your understanding of service delivery and management are essential in helping you craft the team to scale. Your knowledge of customer service and escalation support provides the north star you use for mentoring team members and making sure our customers are heard. Your experience with sales and sales processes provide you the armor for having the hard conversations when the service we provide doesn’t match the customers needs. Finally, your knowledge of systems and security engineering help you coach your team to get scrappy and know when Expel can stretch to meet a customer where they are.</p> <hr /> <h2><strong>What Expel can do for you</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Connect you with people and organizations who are at vastly different places in their security journey and who want to share their opinions and learn from you</li> <li>Expose you to an environment where you will be challenged but supported, encouraging you to learn and grow</li> <li>Enable you to build relationships and work alongside specialists in their fields, including best-in-class SOC analysts, sales leaders, customer success professionals, and customers</li> </ul> <hr /> <h2><strong>What you can do for Expel</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Deeply understand prospect challenges that lead them to Expel and set clear expectations around which of these challenges we can help them with and which we can’t</li> <li>Develop presentation and training materials to enable your team to deliver excellent scalable and repeatable sales support</li> <li>Identify patterns in PoV gaps and work with Product Management team to address them</li> <li>Establish and maintain key strategic customer relationships</li> <li>Providing coaching and mentorship to your team</li> </ul> <hr /> <h2><strong>What you should bring with you</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Strong customer relationship and people skills as well as strong written communication and presentation skills</li> <li>Experience in security operations, incident response, and associated processes</li> <li>Solid understanding of data analysis and performance/operational metrics and statistics</li> <li>Experience partnering with sales and partner enablement teams</li> <li>Ability to mentor team members through difficult customer scenarios</li> <li>Experience managing a team at a company with up to or past $500M ARR</li> <li>3+ years experience in sales engineering with at least 2-3 years managing a sales engineering team</li> </ul> <hr /> <h2><strong>Additional notes</strong></h2> <p>The base salary range for this role is between $207,000 USD and $225,000 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.</p> <p>We believe in paying transparently and equitably.
