Introduction to Team
Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.
The Global Leave Administrator would be responsible for assisting and administering all types of leave programs for the companys global workforce focusing on US operations.This role ensures compliance with local, state, and international leave laws and regulations, and provides guidance to employees and managers on leave policies and procedures.
In this role you will:
Administer Leave Programs: Act as subject matter expert for employee leave and accommodation requests, including long term sick leave, parental leave, short-term and long-term disability, and other statutory leaves, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal / state laws and company policies.
Compliance: Interpret and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across different countries and regions. Stay updated on changes in leave laws and regulations.
Employee Experience: Provide empathetic and supportive guidance to employees regarding leave policies, eligibility, and documentation requirements. Address employee inquiries and concerns related to leave.
Documentation and Tracking: Maintain accurate records of leave requests, approvals, and usage. Prior experience with ServiceNow and Workday a plus.
Communication: Demonstrated experience to guide employees and managers through complex leave and accommodation scenarios, providing clear expectations and empathetic solutions. Coordinate with People Operations team to ensure smooth leave administration.
Reporting: Generate reports on leave usage and trends. Provide insights and recommendations to COE and People Operations based on leave data. Monitor and track leave trends and accommodation requests to provide data-driven insights for process improvements.
Policy Development: Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for managers and employees on leave policies, accommodations, and best practices.
Training: Assist with training sessions for employees and managers on leave policies and process.
Accommodations: Manage and oversee workplace accommodation requests, ensuring that they are handled efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with legal guidelines.
Process Documentation: Maintain accurate standard operating procedures and documentation to support compliance and reporting requirements.
Vendor Management: Partner with HR, managers, and third-party leave administrators to streamline the leave process, ensuring timely submission and review of required documentation, as applicable.
Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, specifically handling leaves and accommodations.
Strong knowledge of HR and employment laws in US Market.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees and managers.
Strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while maintaining
