They ensure the smooth running of database systems by optimizing performance, performing regular backups, and managing database security. The role requires an in-depth understanding of database management systems (DBMS), SQL, performance tuning, and high availability solutions.Job description: We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with over 6 years of experience in managing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SQL Server, Azure Cloud environments, T-SQL development, and will be skilled in automating DBA tasks. Knowledge of backup and restore processes across on-premises and cloud environments, Change Data Capture (CDC), Job monitoring, and monitoring tools like Grafana and SolarWinds is highly desirable.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Database Administration:<ul><li>Manage and maintain SQL Server databases across multiple environments (development, staging, production) ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.</li><li>Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, reindexing, and monitoring database performance.</li><li>Implement and manage database replication, clustering, Always On availability groups, and other HA/DR strategies.</li><li>Ensure database security by managing access permissions, roles, and implementing security best practices.</li></ul></li><li>Azure Cloud Management:<ul><li>Administer SQL Server instances hosted on Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines.</li><li>Implement and manage database migrations from on-premises to Azure cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and data consistency.</li><li>Optimize database performance in the cloud environment, using Azure monitoring tools and recommendations.</li></ul></li><li>T-SQL Development:<ul><li>Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to meet business requirements.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in complex queries and database workloads.</li><li>Design and implement database schema changes, indexes, and other structures to support efficient data storage and retrieval.</li></ul></li><li>Automation of Repetitive DBA Tasks:<ul><li>Automate routine DBA tasks, including backup/restore, health checks, and database maintenance using PowerShell and SQL Server Agent Jobs.</li><li>Create and maintain T-SQL scripts for automating tasks related to data migration, database optimization, and health monitoring.</li></ul></li><li>Backup and Restore Operations:<ul><li>Perform and automate backup and restore processes between on-premises and cloud (Azure) databases, ensuring reliable disaster recovery mechanisms and testing recovery procedures.</li></ul></li><li>Change Data Capture (CDC):<ul><li>Implement and manage CDC (Change Data Capture) to track changes in the database for auditing, data synchronization, and real-time reporting.</li></ul></li><li>Job Monitoring and Alerts:<ul><li>Set up monitoring and alerting for SQL Server jobs and system health, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of potential issues.</li><li>Monitor job execution and performance using SQL Server Agent, Grafana, SolarWinds, and other third-party monitoring tools.</li></ul></li><li>SSL Implementations:<ul><li>Configure and manage SSL/TLS encryption for SQL Server instances to secure data in transit between servers and clients.</li></ul></li><li>Performance Tuning &amp;
