The qualified individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. </div><div><br /></div><div>ERG is searching for a highly motivated research scientist.  Responsibilities will include managing projects and tasks related to various air quality measurements and monitoring projects, including near-road monitoring, oil and gas monitoring, methods research, exposure investigations, source testing, and other air-related sampling and tracking events.  The individual will be required to engineer, design, build, test, and utilize equipment for air sampling and monitoring. They will also need the capability to write, work plans, quality assurance project plans, health and safety plans, and reports for work being performed by ERG. Traveling to sites for air-related sampling and monitoring will be at most twenty-five to thirty percent. Mechanical and fabrication skills are essential to this role.    </div><h3>Job Description: </h3><ul><li>Lead air quality measurement studies across the country in support of EPA air quality monitoring research</li><li>Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, deploy, and maintain air quality monitoring instrumentation</li><li>Process field data using R, MATLAB, or Python</li><li>Conduct other related tasks involved in air quality research projects, including presentations and publishing research papers</li><li>Successfully completed all required annual safety training</li><li>Support equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Skills: </h3><ul><li>A B.S. degree in Environmental/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field</li><li>An aptitude and interest in science, technical work, mechanical equipment, and air quality</li><li>Proficient in instrumentation installation, calibration, testing, and operation</li><li>Ability and willingness to travel 25-50% of the time</li><li>Ability to work in outdoor field settings</li><li>Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening</li><li>Experience with onsite air-related monitoring and sampling</li><li>Experience with writing technical documents</li><li>Experience with designing and fabricating electronic equipment and hardware</li><li>Experience in a mechanical, laboratory, science, etc. is preferred</li><li>Knowledge of EPA source test methods/procedures, air quality or emission monitors, etc. preferred</li><li>Strong organizational and communication skills</li></ul><div>ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
