Position reports to Manager - Mainframe Database What You Will Do: <ul> <li>Fulfill customer service requests for mainframe z/OS customers in a timely manner as they pertain to DB2 and related OEM software products.</li> <li>Provide primary upgrade support for DB2 and products related to DB2.</li> <li>Follow procedures for installing OEM software products efficiently and according to best practices and Ensono standards (for productivity/scalability).</li> <li>Assist in the onboarding of new Ensono clients with respect to DB2 and related OEM software products.</li> <li>Adhere to a schedule that efficiently manages resources and allows timely implementations.</li> <li>Follow ITSM change control procedures</li> </ul> We want all new Associates to succeed in their roles at Ensono. What You Will Need: <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.</li> <li>10+ years of professional experience in DB2 for administration and systems programming support (CA, BMC and IBM tools for DB2 is a plus).</li> <li>Extensive experience with the following:</li> <li>Recent installation and customization of DB2 subsystems</li> <li>Troubleshooting and solving of DB2 System database issues</li> <li>Troubleshooting and solving DB2 software related issues</li> <li>Working knowledge of WLM environment with respect to DB2</li> <li>Solid working knowledge of DB2 Utilities, TSO and FTP</li> <li>Strong knowledge of SMP/E and its role in the installation process</li> <li>Base knowledge in Unix System Services(USS) related to DB2 requirements in USS</li> <li>Strong JCL skills</li> <li>Knowledge in best practices of software management, maintenance and documentation</li> <li>Configure and manage DB2 in a parallel sysplex environment (Data sharing a Plus).</li> <li>Develop innovation, strategies, processes and  best practices in DB2 systems programming</li> <li>Ability to work with clients as an Ensono ambassador for DB2 related matters</li> </ul> Other Qualifications <ul> <li>Reviewing new versions of DB2 for functionality, advising how they benefit the client</li> <li>Vendor consultations for problems and questions</li> <li>Working knowledge of SMS, IDCAMS, DF/DSS and other standard utilities and subsystems.</li> <li>Assembly Language and exit coding</li> <li>Identification and resolution of performance issues </li> <li>Base understanding of DB2 database administration (App DBA).</li> <li>Understanding of DB2 connect, Security exits.</li> <li>DB2 data sharing in a SYSPLEX environment</li> <li>Extracting information from DB2 logs</li> <li>DB2 Database system recovery</li> <li>Experience with IMS and IMS upgrades a plus</li> </ul>   Why <a href="https://www.ensono.com/company/culture/" target="_blank">Ensono</a>? Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
