Who We Are As a Financial Planner at Ellevest, you will have the opportunity to deliver and scale our financial planning client experience by connecting with clients online and over the phone. You will spend time speaking with clients 1:1 about our financial planning offering, gathering information about their financial situation and goals, then recommending a financial planning service or resource from our offering that best meets their needs. In this role, you will be tasked with quickly learning about Ellevests products and services, and adapting to using new technology to communicate with and support our clients.  You are confident in connecting with clients and building trust with them. Over time, you’ll build on your training at Ellevest and work with clients on financial planning topics such as budgeting, debt repayment, saving for retirement, the home buying process, and more. In this role, youll also have the opportunity to speak to audiences of 20+ people via webinars and workshops.  This consulting role is initially expected to require 10-15 hours per week but could vary over time depending on client volume and other business needs. Please note this is a consultant position (independent contractor). Day-to-day you will: <ul> <li>Conduct introductory calls with clients and prospects who are interested in exploring Ellevest’s financial planning services </li> <li>Support prospective financial planning clients by educating them on the services we offer and matching them with the right planning session or package that best meets their needs and will help them achieve their financial goals</li> <li>Provide financial education and guidance to clients via 1:1 sessions on topics including budgeting, debt repayment, emergency funding, retirement planning, buying a home, and other financial goals</li> <li>Collaborate with Financial Planning team members to maintain a client experience with a consistent methodology, philosophy, and process</li> <li>Present educational workshops and webinars to groups of 20+ people in a variety of settings (clients, prospects, non-profits, corporate employees, professional associations, etc.) </li> <li>Comply with Ellevest methods and guidelines, and uphold our documentation and organization standards to meet compliance requirements</li> <li>Promote professional and team development by maintaining an in-depth understanding of financial planning, capital markets and the financial services industry; stay aware of significant changes or developments (e.g. taxation, regulatory, legal, competitive, technical) within the fields of investments and financial services</li> </ul> We’re looking for:  <ul> <li>CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) Professional certification that is current and active; additional designations such as EA, CFA, CDFA, etc are not required but are welcome. Note: Given our status as a Registered Investment Advisor, we cannot carry FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, or 66 licenses.  </li> <li>5+ years of broad financial planning experience; high volume experience is preferred</li> <li>Willingness to partner with the Ellevest brand and manage any potential conflicts with existing brands in order to best serve Ellevest clientele</li> <li>Outstanding oral and written communication skills, high emotional intelligence and the ability to translate complex financial topics to audiences with different levels of experience and knowledge</li> <li>Willingness to lead webinars and workshops with 20+ attendees</li> <li>Experience relying on and adapting to new technology, especially in a remote setting</li> <li>Adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic remote work environment. The prospective pay rate for this consulting role is $70-85/hour. The actual offer will be determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicants experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team.
