About the Role:

This role supports the Payments initiative by providing financial analysis and insights to drive eBay’s payments strategy. Working closely with the Payments Business Development and Product teams, the FP&A professional will contribute to financial modeling, forecasting, and performance reporting for payments initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Payments Finance, this individual will manage a team of two analysts and work closely with leaders across Payments Product, Payments Business Unit Leaders, Business Development, and Legal. The ideal candidate is a sharp, analytical, and collaborative finance leader who thrives in high-impact, cross-functional environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner directly with the Business Development team to support commercial contract negotiations, offering financial insights and structuring guidance.
     

  • Develop robust business cases for new financial services initiatives across lending, wallet, or other payment-related services.
     

  • Own the forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning process for Payments Monetization, with a focus on revenue growth, margins, and long-term planning.
     

  • Provide scenario modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
     

  • Lead a team of two analysts; foster development, accountability, and excellence within the team.
     

  • Prepare executive-level materials and financial insights to support quarterly financial results, long-range planning, and investment prioritization.
     

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Business Development, Legal, and the Payments General Manager, and others to ensure Finance is a strategic thought partner
     

  • Support payments leadership in evaluating new partnerships, vendor agreements, and monetization strategies.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
     

  • 8+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate development, investment banking or related fields; showing progressive growth in scope and responsibilities.
     

  • Strong understanding of payments, fintech, or financial services business models a plus.
     

  • Demonstrated success in supporting commercial deals, structuring business cases, and influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
     

  • Leadership experience managing high-performing analysts or small teams.
     

  • Excellent financial modeling, scenario planning, and strategic thinking skills.
     

  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
     

Comfort working in a dynamic, matrixed environment and influencing at all levels.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$123,600 - $198,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
