About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks Applied Researcher 1 in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Perform cutting-edge applied research on modeling customer and item data, designing and implementing robust and scalable data ingestion pipelines and tools. Rapidly experiment and prototype with AI computing languages within production systems. Compile and present results and recommendations to the project management team to influence the project roadmap. Evaluate and experiment with new algorithms to define algorithmic measures. Develop and improve machine learning applications, building machine learning models and data pipelines using the latest algorithmic adjustments to deliver innovative yet practical solutions. Partial telecommuting permitted from a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus 18 months of experience in the job offered, as a researcher, or a related occupation.

1.   Machine Learning Algorithms.
2.   Deep Learning Algorithms and Model Architectures.
3.   Natural Language Processing Algorithms and Models.
4.   Computer Vision Algorithms and Models.
5.   Programming languages including Python and C++.
6.   Machine Learning Frameworks including Pytorch and Tensorflow.
7.   Mathematical skills in Linear Algebra, Calculus, Probability and Statistics.
8.   Data Analysis, Data processing and Data Augmentation methods and tools.
9.   Operating systems and scripting languages including Linux, Windows and BASH.

Salary: $148,699.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
