The expected annual salary range for this role is $169200.0 - $248160.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is currently seeking a Regional Manager – Design Build Projects to join our team. This position is based remotely out of the Bay Area, CA

 


Reporting into the Director for Turnkey Projects and Distributed Energy Resources, the Regional Manager will have a key role in shaping the Project Operations strategy and driving growth within the West region. This role will lead a team that supports the production and completion of electrical turn-key projects up to $35M in value. These projects include upgrades and design/build for grid modernization, substation replacements, hydroelectric plant systems and controls, mission-critical facilities and many others. This strategic position leads the West region within the US and is responsible for managing a team of up 8+ direct reports. 

 

The EESS team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle—whether it’s design, build, or support. Our services integrate and optimize the elements of a power system to make sure it’s aligned with business goals. We can help keep your power system safe, efficient, reliable, and up-to-date. We assist customers at every stage of the power system through asset modernization and new project design from power generation to synchronous condensers, to substation and distribution substations, to renewable energy and smart grid engineering, and a wide range of other power focused projects.

 

In this position you will:
-Develop strategy for growth of the Project Operations business within region, playing an instrumental role in evolving overall strategy. 
-Build an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, goal setting, communications, development, appraisal and conformance to company policies. 
-Enhance Eaton’s position in region, adding value to target customers, and establishing Eaton as the premiere electrical solutions provider in the industry 
-Tailor, refine and carry Eaton’s complete Project Operations Business Unit “Solution” to the customer.
-Represent all of the electrical group’s products and service, positioning Eaton for turnkey opportunities, lifecycle services, capital projects and MRO purchases.
-Effectively collaborate with cross functional leadership to share resources to maximize the output of all segments within the organization and develop new business markets.
-Oversee day-to-day operations for region for EESS’ Project Operations Business Unit, including resources/manpower, financials (Orders, Sales, Standard Margin and Region Budget), sales & marketing within the organization. 
-Prepare the necessary business plans; including schedules, financial forecasts, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major problems or tasks as required. 
-Assist the North America Project Operations Manager and the Director in developing and implementing an approved profit plan for the Business Unit
-Interface and coordinate with other plants, Regions and Districts within the company and outside vendors to procure parts and services for the operations. 
-Maintain the security and effective allocation of the company’s resources and assets. 
-Assure the safety of all employees and strict compliance with safety policies. 
-Lead bi-monthly backlog reviews of all projects within the assigned Region and communication schedules and deliverables as well as promptly communicate chang es and updates. 
-Manage select projects as needed in addition to leadership responsibilities

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR minimum fifteen (15) years military or power distribution project management experience
-Minimum eight (8) years’ experience leading turnkey/design build projects
-Minimum three (3) years’ experience managing direct reports
-Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
-Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted drivers license
-Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time 
-Must reside within the California Bay area. Active duty military candidates are exempt from this requirement

 

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with Power Distribution equipment and the application in turnkey engineering design and construction projects.
-Experience in two of the following; field sales, solution management and project management.
-Current Federal Clearance or the ability to obtain one
-Experience writing proposals for multiple customer markets
-Experience with various contract types/vehicles 
-Professional Engineering License
-General Contractors License
-Electrical Contractor License

Skills:

-Strong financial acumen
-Process oriented
-Must be able to meet and maintain customer specific entrance requirements 
-Must be proficient in the application, operation and support of engineering and maintenance of electrical distribution power systems and power quality emergency backup systems of all voltage classes; including but not limited to: commissioning of new switchgear, troubleshooting and diagnoses, repairs, preventative maintenance, modification of control schemes, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
