The role involves conceptualizing, developing and designing advanced real-time DSP algorithms for advanced power conversion applications as part of a global, dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. </span></p><div><div><div><h2>What you’ll do:</h2></div><div><p> </p><ul><li>Lead a small engineering teams (1-3 people) in the development, test and release of embedded control firmware working with global cross-functional engineering team to launch new products including SiC three-phase UPSs, Lithium Ion energy storage systems for maintaining critical loads such as datacenters.</li><li>Review product requirements and develop system control architecture, collaborate with system engineer to select topology and overall design for new products.</li><li>Evaluate alternative control architecture solutions to meet customer and product development requirements factoring in cost, performance, and schedule.</li><li>Establish system &amp; sub-system level control requirements from functional specifications and application needs.</li><li>Develop mathematical models and algorithms for advanced DSP controls of electronic power conversion products.</li><li>Apply controls theory to design controllers to achieve target product performance.</li><li>Develop simulations using MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment and verify control designs through simulations.</li><li>Validate designs using Real time simulation systems such as OPAL-RT.</li><li>Analyze, design and assist in testing/troubleshooting control system software used in uninterruptible power systems and other power quality products.</li><li>Apply best engineering practices and decision making for advanced technical problem solving.</li><li>Leverage your skill and experience by giving guidance and leadership to other technical project team members.</li><li>Work with global product development teams to solve problems related to performance, functionality, safety, reliability, quality and component availability.</li><li>Develop and optimize HDL code (e.g., VHDL/Verilog) for implementing digital control algorithms on FPGA.</li><li>Perform synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure using industry-standard FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).</li><li>Support board-level bring-up and debugging of FPGA-based systems using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2>Why Eaton?</h2></div><div><p>•    Be a key member of a world-class organization that creates market leading 3-phase products.<br />•    Opportunities for career advancement through a defined technical track as well as broader Eaton career opportunities in various business functions.
