The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Eatons Electrical Engineering Services & Systems is currently seeking Power Breaker Center (PBC) Engineering and InsulGard Manager for our Switchgear Modernization business position will be based at our Greenwood, SC facility. The position does offer relocation assistance.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Provide oversight and direction to our Power Breaker Center (PBC) engineering team located in Greenwood, SC.
  • Accountable for forecasting, backlog management, invoicing, production schedule, top line sales growth and profitability of the InsulGard productline in Chanhassen, MN.
  • Plan and manage the electrical and mechanical engineering, drafting, and computer aided design (CAD) standards and functions for the Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Vacuum Replacement Breaker product lines.
  • Manage and oversee the definition and design of these products in accordance to applicable IEEE and UL standards to effectively support the manufacturing functions.
  • Senior technical resource in product engineering continuous improvements.
  • Controls all project/engineering activities for new business and engineering changes for existing products.
  • Manages and directs the maintenance of line work.
  • Ensures all proper documentation and standard engineering processes are followed to Eaton Quality and ISO guidelines.
  • Ensures engineering is pro-active and responsive to needs of the plant production lines.
  • Works to minimize and maintain engineering costs in the plant.
  • Interfaces with customers to communicate problems and solutions while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Manages special projects and perform other duties as requested by the Director.
  • Assess, train, and develop employees and ensure they meet the safety requirements.
  • Responsible for all customer specific requirements where applicable, including those referenced in the QMS manuals.
  • Frequent communication with all levels of management, corporate support groups, Quality Assurance, plant personnel and customers as necessary.
     

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) from an accredited institution. 
  • Minimum of five years of engineering experience with power system or electrical equipment
  • Must be able to work in the US without corporate sponsorship now or in the future

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) from an accredited institution. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of mechanical and electrical design
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with low voltage and medium voltage breakers across all manufacturers of power distribution equipment. 
  • Familiarity with UL, IEEE and ANSI standards and working groups.

Skills:

Position Success Criteria:

  • Applicants must successfully complete EESS safety training to operate at customer sites. 
  • Applicants must adhere to all EESS safety programs and policies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for success
  • This position requires up to 25% travel anywhere in North America.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to lead and manage upwards and downwards.
  • Strong analytical skills
