Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking an Application Engineer - Data Center, Strategic Accounts. This is a home-based/remote position and candidates for this role must reside within the United States to be considered for this position.<div><div><div><h2>What you’ll do:</h2></div><div>Position Overview: The Application Engineer is a consultative, technical sales professional responsible for supporting electrical consultants (power system designers) and in-house engineering staff at Multi-Tenant Data Centers that serve the commercial, institutional, government, and hyperscale markets. An application engineer must possess both strong technical and commercial skills and be experienced in electrical power distribution, power quality, and control.  This position is responsible for working with electrical consultants and specifying engineers to assist in the layout and specification of medium voltage and low voltage power distribution systems. This position will also be responsible for providing technical product and application leadership for external clients, as well as technical mentoring for Eaton sales engineers and account managers.  In this function you will: <ul><li>Support electrical engineers at the consulting firms serving Strategic Accounts nationwide, aiding technical design and positioning Eaton related products in a preferred position</li><li>Act as the primary point of contact for technical and engineering support for the in-house engineering staff and design teams at the MTDCs</li><li>Serve as a technical expert within the Strategic Accounts Team, offering comprehensive support to Sales engineers and account managers for Eatons full portfolio, including ARS and CPS products</li><li>Aid the Strategic Accounts Team on large bids including submittals drawings, technical interpretation, and interfacing with the consultant and owner</li><li>Facilitate technical collaboration between Multi-Tenant Data Centers and Eaton’s product lines, supporting product innovation and providing design recommendations based on customer needs</li><li>Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions at targeted consultant firms or MTDCs</li><li>Provide mentoring and training to Strategic Account Sales Engineers, Facility Account Managers, Major Account Managers, and other employees within and outside of the NAS organization</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2>Qualifications:</h2></div><div>Required (Basic) Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution</li><li>Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales/marketing and/or engineering experience </li><li>Possess a valid driver’s license</li><li>No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. </li></ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution </li><li>A Professional Engineer (PE) License</li><li>LEED AP certification </li><li>Extensive electrical experience</li><li>Knowledge of Eaton electrical products, services and competitors</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2>Skills:</h2></div><div>Position Criteria: <ul><li>Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future</li><li>Technical knowledge regarding the application of power distribution products including medium and low voltage switchgear, panelboards and switchboards, protective relaying and busway</li><li>Experience in working with products and applications such as three-phase UPS systems, power distribution units, static transfer switches, remote power panels, power monitoring products (including metering and software), and power control products.</li><li>Strategic understanding of the U.S. power distribution and data center market</li><li>Ability to write technical specifications for new projects in a manner that will put Eaton in an advantageous position when the project is bid</li><li>Ability to interface with electrical consultant principals and lead electrical engineers, as well as facility engineers at data centers</li><li>Problem solving skills </li><li>Effective communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization, including consultant or end user organizations</li><li>Presentation and training skills - Initiative and self-management skills</li><li>Proven capability to find creative solutions to solve complex technical application problems </li><li>Value selling experience </li><li>Ability to travel up to 25% (closer to 35%)</li></ul></div></div></div>The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive.  This position has a target total compensation range of $142,500 - $209,000. Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The application window for this position is anticipated to close on September 11, 2025. We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
