<h2>Role Description</h2> Dropbox’s Core team is looking for a Design Leader to lead product design teams in building best-in-class product experiences that delight our customers. This leader will shape the vision and execution of foundational design team within Core, including design systems and portfolio. This means leading our most strategic ICs in defining the future of Core and leading a cross-functional team to build the foundational components, primitives and patterns leveraged by all of Dropbox design. This role will also be critical in contributing to our world-class design discipline, guiding talented designers, PMs, and engineers focused on high levels of craft and quality across Dropbox. You’ll work closely with leaders across the business and shape not just our products, but our people and the way we design and build. <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Craft and communicate a multi-year vision with company-wide impact across their teams</li> <li>Lead teams to deliver strategic initiatives that require extensive collaboration with and influence of senior leaders across Dropbox</li> <li>Lead the team in balancing urgency vs. the incredibly high quality bar expected by both our customers and the broader Dropbox organization</li> <li>Lead the design process and product development for your team — from problem definition to design implementation</li> <li>Partner closely with leadership across functions - product, engineering, research, marketing, and other cross functional teams - to ensure products and systems are well-defined, high impact, and successfully executed</li> <li>Work closely with design leadership to ensure a cohesive customer experience across all products </li> <li>Create a team of best-in-class designers who obsess over customers and move fast in a highly ambiguous environment </li> <li>Foster a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies Dropboxs values and continue to develop Dropbox as one of the best places to work</li> </ul> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>At least 7+ years of professional experience leading or managing a design team</li> <li>At least 2+ years designing, building and leading a design system team at a mature company</li> <li>Experience leading senior ICs, especially principal level and ability to guide them to contributing maximum impact</li> <li>A portfolio of relevant design work, executed either by yourself or a team that you led, that conveys an ability to ship successful products that customers love</li> <li>A customer-centered approach to designing products for people</li> <li>A hands-on, self starter leader, with high ownership, who can think big, but also dive-deep and straddle both altitudes while connecting the dots </li> <li>Deep experience working with product managers, engineering, and marketing to drive vision, strategy and execution</li> <li>Comfortable juggling a wide range of responsibilities at the same time</li> <li>A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with others</li> </ul> <div> <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Experience designing 0-1 consumer products strongly preferred</li> <li>Success leading the thoughtful integration of generative design tools, LLMs, and computational design methodologies into creative workflows while preserving team autonomy and elevating overall design quality</li> </ul> <h2>Compensation</h2> </div><div><div><div>US Zone 1</div><div>$289,000—$391,000 USD</div></div><div><div>US Zone 2</div><div>$260,100—$351,900 USD</div></div><div><div>US Zone 3</div><div>$231,200—$312,800 USD</div></div></div>
