Check out our blog post on this topic and more <a href="https://dropbox.tech/culture/sharing-our-engineering-career-framework-with-the-world" target="_blank">here</a>. <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Drive the creation of advanced, user-focused features, establishing benchmarks for user interaction on our Android application.</li> <li>Lead in identifying and fixing complex codebase problems, guiding architectural upgrades for better scalability and efficiency.</li> <li>Advocate for best practices in engineering, mentor junior engineers, and ensure top-notch code quality, security, and performance.</li> <li>Guide teams through the development and launch of innovative features, aligning with user needs and business objectives.</li> <li>Utilize problem-solving to tackle complex issues, leading improvements in app performance, security, and efficiency.</li> <li>Encourage ongoing learning and adoption of the latest Android trends, leading the team by example</li> <li>Display outstanding communication, share technical insights with various teams, and foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.</li> </ul> Many teams at Dropbox run Services with on-call rotations, which entails being available for calls during both core and non-core business hours. If a team has an on-call rotation, all engineers on the team are expected to participate in the rotation as part of their employment. Applicants are encouraged to ask for more details of the rotations to which the applicant is applying. <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., Physics or Mathematics), or equivalent technical experience</li> <li>8+ years of experience</li> <li>Strong engineering skills and software fundamentals in developing Android applications </li> <li>Experience working with large native code bases with significant complexity</li> <li>Experience leading a team environment and collaborating with cross-functional groups</li> <li>A passion for building consumer applications with elegant and clean interfaces</li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Kotlin</li> <li>Experience developing, testing, shipping and supporting a product for hundreds of thousands of users</li> </ul> <h2>Compensation</h2><div><div><div>Canada Pay Range</div><div>$184,500—$249,500 CAD</div></div></div>
