<h2>Role Description</h2> <p>The Dropbox team is growing, and we’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Privacy Engineering team. In this role, you will lead a team of 5–7 engineers dedicated to building privacy-first infrastructure, automation, and user-facing controls that safeguard customer data and ensure Dropbox exceeds expectations around trust and compliance.</p> <p>You and your team will work on critical systems such as data subject request (DSR) processing, data classification, preference management, and privacy settings. You will also help evolve Dropbox’s AI-era privacy posture by leveraging automation and machine learning to anticipate risks and prevent privacy-invasive events.</p> <p>This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Legal, Security, and Product. Applicants are encouraged to ask for more details of the rotations to which the applicant is applying.</span></p> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li><span>BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding</span> <span>(e.g.,</span><span> physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.</span></li> <li><span>Minimum of </span><span>8</span><span> years of industry experience as a software developer, including 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams as an Engineering Manager.</span></li> <li><span>Experience implementing or leading efforts around data minimization, differential privacy, data subject rights, and secure data architecture.</span></li> <li><span>Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, legal, security, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with business and compliance needs.</span></li> <li><span>Experience managing teams supporting and operating services in production.</span></li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li><span>Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies</span> <span>(PETs)</span><span> and modern engineering patterns for consent, data flows, and access controls.</span></li> <li><span>Experience building or advising on AI/ML privacy practices, including model governance, training data management, or privacy risk mitigation in LLM pipelines.</span></li> </ul> <div> <div> <h2><span>Compensation</span></h2> </div> </div><div><div><div>Canada Pay Range</div><div><span>$184,500</span><span>—</span><span>$249,500 CAD</span></div></div></div>
