Check out our blog post on this topic and more </span><span><a href="https://dropbox.tech/culture/sharing-our-engineering-career-framework-with-the-world" target="_blank">here</a></span><span>.</span></p> </div> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li><span>Write and maintain high performance Java code from day 1.</span></li> <li><span>Debug and optimize database queries and schemas, including the creation of indices as needed and the resolution of deadlocks when they happen.</span></li> <li><span>Write resilient distributed software that integrates with 3rd parties, such as Google Calendar, Slack, Office 365, Asana, Linear, and more.</span></li> <li><span>Develop REST</span> <span>(and</span><span> perhaps GraphQL) services to be consumed by the Reclaim front end to start and eventually by 3rd parties.</span></li> <li><span>Participate in the process of continuous deployment, including multiple code reviews and deploys per day.</span></li> <li><span>Debug customer issues using logs, metrics, and traces.</span></li> <li><span>Independently identify and deliver software solutions through a set of milestones spanning a specific product focus or a multi-component system</span></li> <li><span>Write code alongside junior engineers, demonstrating hands-on technical leadership, understanding root causes, and leading by example.</span></li> <li><span>Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to deeply understand user needs and develop products that meet those needs.</span></li> <li><span>Develop and execute both short and long-term roadmaps, balancing business impact, user experience, and technical excellence.</span></li> <li><span>Foster a positive team and company culture through mentorship, participation in interviews, and engagement in new initiatives.</span></li> <li><span>Establish and nurture relationships with other engineering teams and collaborate effectively with other functions within Dropbox.</span></li> </ul> <p><span><span>Many teams at Dropbox run Services with on-call rotations, which entails being available for calls during both core and non-core business hours.
