Position Overview:
Fehr Graham is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager with a strong background in managing environmental projects related to Underground Storage Tanks (USTs). The ideal candidate will lead and oversee investigation, remediation, regulatory compliance, and closure projects across a diverse portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven environmental professional to contribute technical expertise, lead projects, and play a key role in client development and team growth.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead UST-related environmental projects from assessment through remediation and closure.
  • Conduct and oversee site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, and UST removal oversight.
  • Prepare technical reports, budget estimates, and regulatory submittals in compliance with IEPA and/or other state and federal agencies.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders regarding project status and technical issues.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff and field personnel.
  • Assist with business development and proposal preparation to grow the environmental service line.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of overall experience with 2+ managing environmental projects, with a strong emphasis on UST programs.
  • Experience with Leaking UST (LUST) sites, IEPA regulations, and risk-based corrective action (RBCA) preferred.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proven project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and staff coordination.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to project sites.
  • Professional licensure (e.g., PE, PG) a plus, but not required.
