This role is based remotely as a full-time employee in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden,Spain and Israel. Youll be responsible for building and maintaining critical platform services including authentication systems, multi-tenant architecture, notification services, search infrastructure, and integrations that enable seamless user experiences across our entire platform. The Platform Team owns essential services that every other team depends on, making this a high-impact role where your work directly influences the reliability, scalability, and user experience of our entire product ecosystem. Youll work on everything from auth-service and presentation-mode to Slack integrations, Algolia search, multi-tenancy support, and notification systems. This is an opportunity to shape the core infrastructure that sits at the foundation of DoiTs platform and product strategy.   <h4>Key Responsibilities</h4> Platform Infrastructure &amp; Core Services <ul> <li>Authentication &amp; Authorization: Develop and maintain our auth-service supporting Google OAuth, Microsoft OAuth, and email link authentication across multi-tenant environments</li> <li>Multi-Tenant Architecture: Build and enhance multi-tenant systems that provide isolated, secure experiences for thousands of customers while maintaining operational efficiency</li> <li>Demo Mode: Implement and maintain demo environments that showcase product capabilities using anonymized datasets for prospective customers</li> </ul> Integration &amp; Communication Systems <ul> <li>Slack Integrations: Build and maintain Slack app integrations for notifications, alerts, and workflow automation across customer workspaces</li> <li>Notification Systems: Develop comprehensive notification infrastructure supporting email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and in-app notifications with sophisticated routing and personalization</li> <li>Search Infrastructure: Work with Algolia to provide powerful, permission-aware search capabilities across users, customers, assets, invoices, and analytics data</li> </ul> Development &amp; Operations <ul> <li>Feature Implementation: From proposal through specification, implementation, and maintenance - youre expected to propose improvements and new capabilities</li> <li>Code Reviews: Participate in thorough code review processes, helping maintain high code quality standards</li> <li>Technical Debt Management: Dedicate time to improving codebase health and addressing technical debt proactively</li> <li>Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and engineers across teams, providing platform services that enable their success</li> </ul> Technical Environment Core Technologies <ul> <li>Backend: Node.js/TypeScript, Go microservices</li> <li>Frontend: React, TypeScript</li> <li>Authentication: Firebase Auth, OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens</li> <li>Databases: Firestore, BigQuery</li> <li>Cloud Platforms: Google Cloud Platform (primary), AWS, Azure</li> <li>Search: Algolia search infrastructure</li> <li>Communication: Slack APIs, Microsoft Teams, SendGrid</li> <li>Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub</li> <li>Monitoring: OpenTelemetry, Cloud Trace</li> </ul> Qualifications Required Experience <ul> <li>4+ years of software development experience</li> <li>Full Stack engineering experience or strong Frontend/Backend engineer willing to expand skills</li> <li>Solid understanding of React, Node.js/TypeScript, and/or Go (willingness to learn if not already proficient)</li> <li>Experience with authentication systems and security best practices</li> <li>Knowledge of microservices architecture and API design</li> <li>Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative development workflows</li> <li>Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal</li> </ul> Preferred Experience <ul> <li>Experience with multi-tenant SaaS applications</li> <li>Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and identity management systems</li> <li>Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other major cloud providers</li> <li>Familiarity with Firebase services (Auth, Firestore)</li> <li>Experience with search technologies (Elasticsearch, Algolia, etc.)</li> <li>Knowledge of notification systems and messaging platforms</li> <li>Experience with Slack/Microsoft Teams integrations</li> <li>Understanding of Kubernetes and containerized applications</li> </ul> Personal Qualities <ul> <li>Self-organized and goal-oriented individual who is confident, thorough and tenacious</li> <li>Embraces continuous development and learning</li> <li>Demonstrated passion for creating high-quality web/SaaS applications</li> <li>Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li> <li>A great sense of humour and enjoys having fun at work</li> </ul> Bonus Points <ul> <li>Experience with automation tools like n8n or Zapier</li> <li>Experience developing cloud-native solutions and using cloud services</li> <li>Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and observability practices</li> <li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi)</li> <li>Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost management principles</li> </ul> Are you a Do’er?
