The Disney Experiences Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology &amp; digital-led initiatives across the Attractions &amp; Entertainment, Food &amp; Beverage, Resorts &amp; Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney!This Principal Software Engineer will sit in the Disneyland Ticketing Technology organization within Technology &amp; Digital for Disney Experiences - directly leading the development efforts for our group.What Youll Do:<ul><li>Own the analysis, design, delivery, and modifications of software improvements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs</li><li>Possess expertise in current programming languages and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and programming tasks</li><li>Contribute to the conception, design, development, testing, and implementation of software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications</li><li>Exercise full autonomy to interact with users across diverse teams and levels to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications</li><li>Initiate the testing and debugging of applications, using conceptual and innovative thinking to drive sophisticated, highly scalable solutions throughout the organization</li><li>Lead projects that may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms</li><li>Lead and influence the direction and prioritization of the design and development of highly scalable software systems and applications</li><li>Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging technologies within your area of expertise to drive informed decision-making and recommendations</li><li>Drive evaluation, adoption, and implementation of generative AI platforms/solutions to increase productivity in software delivery</li><li>Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Solution Engineering to guide architecture, roadmaps, and software delivery - shaping overall strategy for the ticketing/entitlement space</li><li>Design best practices used in the development, maintenance, and administration of systems, including software platform and configuration updates across multiple business units</li><li>Work with key software vendors to provide requirements (functional and non-functional) and influence their solutions to ensure that the requirements will be met</li></ul>Required Qualifications: <ul><li>10+ years of related work experience in of Software Engineering role</li><li>Deep experience within Java development and Services/MicroServices Architecture</li><li>Validated experience with relational databases (MS SQL, AuroraDB) and monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics)</li><li>Direct experience working within Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)</li><li>Experience leveraging generative AI technologies to increase productivity and enhance quality of software delivery</li><li>Excellent leadership abilities, to ensure effective growth and development of team, that can motivate teams and foster creativity within them</li><li>Ability to lead multiple projects at a time and tackle sophisticated technical and operational challenges in an agile environment</li><li>Experience documenting designs using appropriate diagrams and tools</li><li>Confident and professional speaking and presentation abilities among groups, higher-level leadership, and in virtual environments</li><li>Demonstrated mentorship mentality, looking for opportunities to mentor and lead in the context of large-scope projects and initiatives across multiple teams</li></ul>Required Education:<ul><li>Bachelors or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field</li><li>Domain expertise in Ticketing/Entitlement Management systems</li><li>Experience working in a hospitality or travel industry</li><li>Advanced knowledge of systems applications and hardware, server architecture, operating platforms, NAS/SAN technologies, and internet and web applications.</li><li>Experience/familiarity with Node JS, Python, Non-SQL (e.g. MongoDB), Docker, Kubernetes, Consul/Vault, Flutter, mobile development, hybrid or mobile hybrid experience</li></ul>#DISNEYTECHThe hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $188,400 to $252,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
