This team plays a critical role in evaluating product health, ensuring data integrity, and delivering actionable insights that influence product development and executive decision-making. You will lead a team of analysts responsible for assessing and improving browse telemetry data quality and producing high-impact analysis of streaming product performance across Hulu and Disney+. Working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics partners, you will help develop scalable solutions, ensure metric consistency, and uncover the “why” behind key product trends and anomalies. Responsibilities <ul><li>Strategic Leadership: Help drive the vision and priorities for a high-impact analytics team focused on product telemetry, anomaly detection, and performance reporting. </li><li>Data Quality &amp; Instrumentation: Partner with engineering and data engineering teams to monitor, validate, and improve the quality of browse telemetry and event instrumentation. </li><li>Product Performance Reporting: Drive the creation and ongoing development of core performance metrics, executive dashboards, and deep-dive analyses on user behavior and platform engagement. </li><li>Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN to influence product roadmaps and feature prioritization. </li><li>Forensics &amp; Root Cause Analysis: Drive rapid-response investigations and anomaly detection efforts to diagnose data or product issues and guide timely remediation. </li><li>Data Infrastructure: Collaborate on the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and business logic to support consistent, reliable reporting. </li><li>Tooling &amp; Enablement: Deliver intuitive self-serve dashboards and analytics tools using Looker, Tableau, and Databricks to democratize data access. </li><li>Team Development: Mentor, and grow a diverse team of analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and excellence. </li></ul>Required Qualifications <ul><li>A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field </li><li>8+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or analytical engineering, including at least 3 years managing technical teams. </li><li>Proven ability to lead analysts and drive strategic impact through data. </li><li>Deep fluency in SQL and experience with large-scale, distributed data systems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift). </li><li>Strong business intuition and ability to translate technical analysis into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels. </li><li>Expertise in exploratory data analysis, anomaly detection, and root cause investigation. </li><li>Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Databricks). </li><li>Strong understanding of product telemetry, user funnel analysis, and operational monitoring. </li><li>Demonstrated experience building and maintaining scalable data products or pipelines. </li><li>Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Experience working with scripting languages such as Python or R </li><li>Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer subscription-based product </li><li>Experience in the technology industry and knowledge of how to build and implement data products </li><li>Familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow </li><li>Experience operating in an SDLC environment and deploying code </li></ul>Additional Information#DISNEYTECH#DISNEYANALYTICSThe hiring range for this position in Los Angeles is $138,900 - $186,200 per year and in New York is $145,400 - $195,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
