The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in big data, along with strong expertise in backend services or full-stack development. If you are proactive, dedicated, and passionate about these fields, this role offers an incredible opportunity to make an impact!Responsibilities:<ul><li>Build components of large-scale data platform for real-time and batch processing, and own features of big data applications to fit evolving business needs</li><li>Build next-gen cloud based big data infrastructure for batch and streaming data applications, and continuously improve performance, scalability and availability</li><li>Contribute to the best engineering practices, including the use of design patterns, CI/CD, code review and automated test</li><li>Chip in ground-breaking innovation and apply the state-of-the-art technologies</li><li>As a key member of the team, contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation and testing.</li><li>Collaborate with program managers, product managers, SDET, and researchers in an open and innovative environment</li></ul>Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related, or equitable work experience</li><li>7+ years of software development experience, and proficiency in Java, Python, or similar language and related service frameworks like Spring Boot.</li><li>3+ years of big data development experience with technical stacks like Spark, Flink, Singlestore, Kafka, Nifi, and AWS big data technologies</li><li>Experience in relational databases like MySQL or Postgres and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or MongoDB.</li><li>Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to efficiently drive resolution of critical issues.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to drive consensus across cross functional business partners.</li><li>Knowledge of system, application design and architecture</li><li>Experience of building industry level high available and scalable service</li><li>Passion about technologies, and openness to interdisciplinary work</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Masters Degree in a related field, and/or related certification/s</li><li>Experience with processing large amount of data at petabyte level</li><li>Demonstrated ability with cloud infrastructure technologies, including Terraform, K8S, Spinnaker, IAM, ALB, and etc.</li><li>Experience with Databricks, Druid, Snowflake, Impala, Presto, Kinesis, etc.</li><li>Experience in front end development such as React or Angular</li></ul>#DISNEYTECHThe hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is between $152,200 – $204,100 year and San Francisco, CA is between $166,800 - $223,600 and Seattle, WA is between $159,500 – $213,900 and New York is between $159,500 - $213,900. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
