Applicants without a portfolio link on their résumé or a completed application packet may not be fully considered for the position.What You Will Do:<ul><li>Support the project team for the design and implementation of assigned projects.</li><li>Research various interior, architectural, and graphic design genres, themes and historical timelines to help inform project design and define the art direction.</li><li>Develop varied environmental graphic and themed signage solutions for project work at all stages from design concepts, developing design details, design constructability, and scaled technical drawings for fabrication.</li><li>Create detailed scaled design renderings in the form of hand-drawn sketches, vector illustrations, and photo-realistic compositions.</li><li>Develop design constructability, and articulate design intent notation, including materials and color callouts.</li><li>Ensure that the creative intent is achieved by integrating sign design with other teams and components of the facilitys exterior, interior, and area development.</li><li>Prepare specific deliverables including scope of work, location plans, elevations, and detailed fabrication document packages.</li><li>Provide high-quality, to scale, layered production art files in Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop.</li><li>Ensure adherence to department/divisional Standards of Practice.</li><li>Provide support to multiple Environmental Graphic design projects by assisting in project design development and technical documentation.</li><li>Make daily decisions on a scope of work with guidance from the Lead Graphic Designer.</li><li>Communicate and coordinate with others in the department and as part of a larger, multidiscipline project team.</li><li>Could act as Graphic Design Representative at project team meetings.</li><li>Support the implementation of project goals through the development of design solutions.</li></ul>Required Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>3+ years of experience in Environmental Graphic design practice.</li><li>Knowledge of Sign Code requirements for facilities and Theme Park applications.</li><li>Strong artistic skills and experience with thoughtful design, with a clear understanding of the fundamentals of Graphic Design to solve graphic and way-finding challenges.</li><li>Proficiency with Adobe Suite design and illustration programs (including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design), Sketch-up and MS Office Suite.</li><li>Strong typography skills, color theory, visual hierarchy and spatial judgement.</li><li>Knowledge of Architectural Graphic Design and sign construction techniques.</li><li>Knowledge of wayfinding and programming Architectural Signage for different applications (parks, hotels, restaurants, retail, museums, parking facilities, etc.).</li><li>Knowledge of all phases of a sign design program.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>Knowledge in related areas: Architecture, Interior Design, and Area Development.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program required.</li></ul>Additional Information:Benefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
