We are an integrated, cross-functional team of marketers, software engineers, data scientists, and analysts who help the Media team execute highly data-driven marketing campaigns for theatrical, streaming, and brand campaigns.As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to our growing technology portfolio: innovative campaign planning tools, complex data science workflows, and elegant web applications that blend the art of advertising at Disney with the science of our data-backed insights.This role is unique – our team is embedded directly within the Disney marketing organization. If youre excited about this, please get in touch – wed love to hear from you!What You Will Do:<ul><li>Write code, fix bugs, and contribute to the development of a suite of tools used by the Performance Marketing group to execute on theatrical, streaming, and brand campaigns</li><li>Build and expand on backend services that automate and facilitate the execution of data-driven media campaigns on third party ad platforms</li><li>Collaborate with the broader team of media/marketing experts to rapidly iterate from prototypes to high-quality, production pipelines </li><li>Implement quality controls, monitoring, and other safeguards to ensure optimizations are accurately and safely applied to in-flight ad campaigns and key business metrics are always presented accurately </li></ul>Required Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>Experience with building applications or services using Python, Java, or similar</li><li>Demonstrated ability to build any technical component in a larger system (e.g. microservice, API endpoint) as well as a deep understanding of the overall system architecture</li><li>Exceptional hands-on experience and strong core engineering skills — whether through internships, personal projects, or academic work</li><li>Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git, GitHub/GitLab) and standard software development lifecycle tools (e.g. CI/CD pipelines)</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications &amp; Skills: <ul><li>Experience with Spark or SQL</li><li>Understanding of cloud compute (AWS, GCM, etc) and modern dev ops practices; understanding of CI/CD automation</li><li>Knowledge of ad platforms including DMPs, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Innovid, LiveRamp and DSPs (Google DV360, Trade Desk, Verizon Media Group) </li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Junior or Senior year preferred</li><li>Major or significant coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study</li></ul>Eligibility Requirements &amp; Program Information:<ul><li>Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.</li><li>Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.</li><li>Be at least 18 years of age</li><li>Possess unrestricted work authorization</li></ul>The pay rate for this role in Burbank is $42.00 per hour.
