Represents Discover Network at key seminars and industry conferences, regularly delivering addresses as either a keynote speaker or at breakout sessions. Visit customers to help assess their needs and drive Discover Network interests.Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.How Youll Do It<ul><li>Subject Matter Expert on a particular phase of the war against fraud (Card Present, Card Not Present, Threats and Solutions). Provides consultation to internal and external parties to identify threats and countermeasures to protect the value chain and prevent losses to any Discover Network partner.</li><li>Identifies new and potential threats to the payment environment. Defines threats and provides countermeasures to prevent compromises and losses.</li><li>Convert raw data into distinct trends and anticipate and prevent compromises at points of relative vulnerability. Manage existing programs and recommend and implement new programs and program innovations as appropriate.</li><li>Assists with the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide global fraud mitigation strategy. The Specialist must be comfortable with fluid, dynamic environments and have a relatively high tolerance for ambiguity.  Develops and manages industry product solutions to developing trends.</li></ul>Qualifications Youll Need The Basics<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or related field</li><li>6+ years Enterprise SQL-type database software product experience (i.e. Oracle, Teradata, etc.)</li><li>2+ years of Experience with SAS and UNIX</li><li>In Lieu of Education 8+ years Enterprise SQL-type database software product experience (i.e. Oracle, Teradata, etc.)</li></ul> Physical and Cognitive Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
