Youll be part of our Growth R&amp;D engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Manager of Growth, where youll collaborate with cross-functional partners to ship high-impact product experiences and experiments. The ideal person will become a key contributor to our activation strategy, combining strong technical skills with product intuition and a passion for leveraging AI tools to accelerate development workflows.</p> <h2><strong>What Youll Do:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and ship large-scale multi-product experiences across our Cloud Console, working primarily with React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Go</li> <li>Own the full lifecycle of growth experiments from hypothesis formulation and implementation to statistical analysis and iteration driving incremental improvements to activation metrics</li> <li>Leverage AI tools strategically in your development workflow to accelerate feature delivery while maintaining code quality, security, and best practices</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Product, UX Design, and engineering partners across multiple organizations to deliver customer-facing features that drive measurable business outcomes</li> <li>Contribute to operational excellence by improving our app and control plane platforms, architecture, and monitoring systems</li> <li>Champion data-driven experimentation and A/B testing methodologies across the team, sharing insights and learnings to elevate our experimentation practice</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Key Metrics</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Activation rate improvement through shipped experiments and features</li> <li>Experiment velocity and quality (hypothesis clarity, statistical rigor, iteration speed)</li> <li>Feature delivery timelines and technical quality</li> <li>Cross-functional collaboration effectiveness</li> <li>Contribution to platform improvements and operational excellence</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What Youll Add to DigitalOcean:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience</li> <li>2+ years of hands-on experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment building customer-facing products</li> <li>Strong proficiency in modern full-stack technologies, particularly React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Go, and/or Python</li> <li>Demonstrated experience with experimentation frameworks: designing hypotheses, implementing A/B tests, analyzing results for statistical significance, and making data-informed product decisions</li> <li>Experience using AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) in professional settings, with examples of how youve safely accelerated your workflow while maintaining quality and security standards</li> <li>Understanding of AI tool governance and best practices, including code review processes, security considerations, and appropriate use cases for AI assistance</li> <li>Strong product sense and UX intuition.  You naturally think from the customers perspective and can balance user experience with technical constraints</li> <li>Analytical mindset with experience interpreting metrics, conducting A/B test analysis, and translating data insights into product improvements</li> <li>Ability to make effective trade-offs between engineering excellence and product velocity, balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical health</li> <li>Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Compensation Range:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>$91,600 - $114,400</li> </ul> <p><span>*This is a remote role</span></p> <p><em><span>#LI-Remote</span></em></p><div><h2><strong>Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>We innovate with purpose. </strong>You’ll be a part of a cutting-edge technology company with an upward trajectory, who are proud to simplify cloud and AI so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world.
