This pivotal role is perfect for a seasoned professional passionate about leveraging data to drive strategic business decisions and optimize reporting processes within our cloud computing infrastructure. <h2>What You’ll Do:</h2> <ul> <li>Strategic BI System Management: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our comprehensive BI systems, ensuring their scalability, reliability, and alignment with evolving business needs.</li> <li>BI Optimization &amp; Innovation: Proactively identify and implement strategies to optimize existing reporting processes, enhance data visualization, and introduce innovative reporting solutions that provide actionable insights.</li> <li>Data Architecture &amp; Modeling: Design and implement robust data models and architectures using dbt that support efficient data storage, retrieval, availability, analysis, and comprehensive BI reporting.</li> <li>ETL Development: Develop and maintain complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is accurately and efficiently integrated across various systems.</li> <li>Data Warehousing: Build and maintain performant data warehouses and data lakes to support advanced analytics and reporting needs.</li> <li>Data Analytics &amp; BI Reporting: Develop and maintain BI infrastructure to enable in-depth stakeholder analysis and reporting.</li> <li>Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and query execution to ensure efficient processing and analysis.</li> <li>Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, marketing managers, and other engineers to understand complex business requirements and translate them into robust technical BI solutions.</li> <li>Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of data architectures, processes, and best practices.</li> </ul> <h2>Key Skills and Qualifications:</h2> <ul> <li>Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex data patterns and present to the executive team. </li> <li>Extensive experience with dbt, data modeling techniques, and best practices, with a proven track record of building sophisticated and optimized data models.</li> <li>Expert-level proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).</li> <li>Deep understanding of data architecture and best practices, including automation, governance, lineage, and dependency management.</li> <li>Significant experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).</li> <li>Advanced familiarity with BI tools, with Looker preferred.</li> <li>Strong experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow).</li> <li>Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-based data services.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to independently identify and solve complex BI problems and optimize reporting workflows.</li> </ul> <h2>Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean</h2> <ul> <li>We innovate with purpose. The salary range for this position is $165,600 - $249,600 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
