Our amazing Data Center team is responsible for maintaining and growing the physical infrastructure of the DigitalOcean cloud, past, present, and future. They own everything related to the physical servers and networking gear that enables our company and our customers to scale.</p> <p>Day-to-day duties may include everything from replacing a faulty drive in one of our servers to flying overseas to set up a brand-new Data Center from scratch. In exchange for your expertise and enthusiastic interest in DigitalOcean, we can offer you a role on a fast-growing, and collaborative team where youll be given regular opportunities to hone your skills and learn new ones.</p> <p><strong>This position is for the NYC area and requires you to be onsite.</strong></p> <h2><strong>What Youll Be Working On:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Supporting data center engineers with on-site physical deployments</li> <li>Racking, stacking, and cabling servers, power distribution units, and switches under the guidance of data center engineers </li> <li>Replacement of server components such as CPU, RAM, drives and boards</li> <li>Submitting RMA to equipment manufacturers, shipping and receiving gear to and from remote locations and vendors.</li> <li>Work through assigned tickets and work requests effectively, performs basic diagnosis and repairs to hardware in line with internal SLAs</li> <li>Assists data center engineers in debugging network, hardware, and Linux OS-related issues</li> <li>Assists with asset management, tracks and monitors data center hardware and component inventory</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What We’ll Expect From You:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with servers, hardware, and networking is preferred but not essential</li> <li>Passionate about data center hardware and infrastructure</li> <li>Interest in networking, hardware, and Linux OS</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborative nature, and a friendly can-do attitude</li> <li>Can perform a basic level of troubleshooting preferred but not essential</li> <li>A strong desire and aptitude for solving problems </li> <li>A valid driver’s license (must be comfortable with driving)</li> <li>Willing to receive guidance from senior engineers and technicians</li> <li>Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation</li> <li>Ability to logically analyze and solve problems</li> <li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10% - 15% travel)</li> <li>Ability to be on your feet all-day</li> <li>Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs</li> <li>Ability to be on-call outside of business hours for escalations as needed</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Compensation Range: </strong></h2> <ul> <li>$54,000.00 - $67,600.00</li> </ul> <p><span>*This is an onsite role</span></p> <p><em><span>#LI-Onsite</span></em></p><div><h2><strong>Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>We innovate with purpose. </strong>You’ll be a part of a cutting-edge technology company with an upward trajectory, who are proud to simplify cloud and AI so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world.
