Our Data Center team is responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling the physical infrastructure that powers the DigitalOcean cloud—past, present, and future. From replacing a faulty drive to deploying an entire data center overseas, you’ll have a hands-on role in ensuring our infrastructure runs efficiently. In return for your expertise and passion, we offer a place on a fast-growing, collaborative team, where you’ll have regular opportunities to refine your skills, take on new challenges, and grow your career. <h2>What You’ll Be Working On</h2> <ul> <li> Deploying, maintaining, and optimizing DigitalOcean’s data center infrastructure </li> <li> Racking, stacking, and cabling servers, power distribution units (PDUs), and network switches </li> <li> Installing and configuring servers, switches, routers, and storage hardware </li> <li> Managing hardware lifecycle, including RMA processing, shipping/receiving, and inventory tracking and auditing </li> <li> Coordinating and tracking remote work requests to ensure seamless infrastructure operations </li> <li> Diagnosing and repairing hardware issues, performing upgrades, integrations, and rebuilds </li> <li> Troubleshooting network connectivity, server hardware, and Linux OS-related issues </li> <li> Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve deployment efficiency, automation, and monitoring </li> </ul> <h2>What We’ll Expect From You</h2> <ul> <li> Hands-on experience with servers, networking hardware, cabling, and infrastructure components </li> <li> Basic proficiency with Linux OS, including command-line operations and troubleshooting </li> <li> Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug network, hardware, and OS issues efficiently </li> <li> Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with a collaborative, customer-focused mindset </li> <li> Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environment and respond to incidents proactively </li> <li> Comfort with participating in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations </li> <li> Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive between locations as needed </li> <li> Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10% - 15%) </li> <li> Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs </li> </ul> <h2>Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean:</h2> <ul> <li>We innovate with purpose. The salary range for this position is between $54,000 - $67,500 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
