Meet the team:
You will be part of the Global Engineering Operations team, bridging R&D and Operations for new product introductions. This role will focus on the development of robust processes and governance structures for guiding the design and qualification of new products and manufacturing technologies. This crucial role supports Dexcoms thrilling growth in delivering essential, life-changing products to our valued customers. As part of this dynamic and highly effective team, you will collaborate closely across multiple functions, gaining broad exposure to our entire product life cycle.
Where you come in:
- You will act as the Subject Matter Expert in Six Sigma methodologies and advanced data analytics to analyze data, identify root causes, and develop data-driven solutions supporting complex investigations and technology development efforts.
- You will develop and deploy a professional development strategy for Engineers at Dexcom, serving as the primary facilitator of technical training and providing ongoing mentoring and coaching on statistical methods and Six Sigma concepts, tools, and techniques, ensuring they are proficient in using them.
- You will lead cross-functional teams in identifying, analyzing, and solving process problems using Six Sigma methodologies. You will also act as an internal consultant, guiding and supporting other teams on process improvement initiatives.
- You will be the Subject Matter Expert in product integration processes, including training curriculum and guidance documents, to ensure robust product transfers between R&D and Operations.
- You will lead the development of best practices and guidance documents for production integration into Operations, driving operational excellence throughout the product development and technology transfer process following DFSS and Lean principles. Ensuring design-for-manufacturability and assembly considerations at all stages of the product development lifecycle, considering system-level trade-offs and interactions.
- You will Partner with R&D and Sustaining Operations teams to align on commercial feasibility and transition plans as technologies mature.
What makes you successful:
- You are an expert in Six Sigma tools and techniques, driving a structured methodology for investigations and technology development efforts, including advanced statistical analysis techniques. You have a pragmatic, risk-based approach appropriate for high-volume manufacturing of Class II medical devices.
- As a Technical leader of the Global Engineering team, you will champion a proactive approach and offer recommendations for technology solutions to enhance performance and achieve both short-term and long-term objectives.
- You will facilitate seamless communication between sites and global functions, contributing to risk management and technology transfer and ensuring alignment with global quality standards.
- In your cross-functional role, you will be the primary liaison with other management members, spanning engineering, manufacturing, clinical and regulatory affairs, quality assurance, quality control, and marketing.
- You will foster a reputation for the engineering organization marked by high integrity, competitive leadership, and consistent performance through the timely delivery of quality products.
- Your leadership will prioritize personal and collective accountability, creating an environment conducive to personal growth and career development through mentoring, training, performance management, and setting challenges to elevate organizational performance.
- Driving innovation in approach, processes, and methodologies while honoring past work and processes will be a core aspect of your role, ensuring adherence to company, customer, and industry requirements and specifications.

Experience and Education Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Master’s degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience of a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
