Overview
As Chief Operating Officer for the US Private Bank, Investment Products, you will work with various stakeholders across the investment product landscape, including Deposits, Discretionary Portfolio Management, and Capital Markets, to lead strategic change initiatives, to ensure operational excellence, and to maintain the strong control environment. You will be responsible to develop and implement solutions to improve efficiency, as well as to oversee business and administrative operations. You will be responsible to coordinate a variety of internal audits and external regulatory exams. You will lead a team of business managers and will partner with a variety of key stakeholders including finance, legal, compliance, product heads, technology, and operations.

What You’ll Do
- Represent Private Bank US, Investment Products in a variety of governance forums
- Responsible for non-compensation expense management and coordination of headcount requisitions
- Oversee various projects to ensure timely and quality execution of deliverables
- Lead coordination and prioritization of strategic change the bank initiatives
- Manage and oversee a high performing team
- Work closely with control functions to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
How You’ll Lead
- Sets clear direction for the team in line with overall business strategy balancing both global and regional priorities; manages performance systemically by considering delivery, behavior and conduct in equal measure, setting and communicating clear role expectations and qualitative and quantitative priorities, promoting accountability and removing impediments to success; ensures team members have regular and meaningful performance and career development discussions giving and listening to feedback; holds direct reports accountable for systems, processes and control management practices which are efficient, cost-effective and in line with Bank standards and regulatory expectations; ensures team decision-making processes are timely and place precedence on long-term considerations and client needs over the short term
- Ensures each direct report has sufficient time and skills to perform the correspondent role and proactively manages and mitigates potential conflicts of interests; proactively manages performance and business practices to ensure alignment with the Banks goals, values and code of conduct and is clear on how to take action to ensure appropriate positive outcomes and negative consequences for individual employees
- Fosters an inclusive team who can collaborate on topics to achieve optimal ideas and recommendations; advocates for speak up culture where team members are encouraged to express views and raise concerns; acts as an escalation channel ensuring matters are referred to the appropriate function within the Bank (i.e. Human Resources, Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime, Legal)
Skills You’ll Need
- Experience as a business manager and/or COO capacity fostering continuous improvement of operations and infrastructure in wealth management
- Extensive experience managing controls environment, resource planning, and business forecasting
- Proven experience designing and implementing change management programs, responsibility for tracking execution and measuring success
- Advanced experience in a supervisory capacity and implementing supervisory framework
- Proven management experience setting direction for overall business strategy
Skills That Will Help You Excel
- Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a heavily matrixed environment
- Ability to collaborate with senior leadership in areas inside and outside of the Private Bank
- Knowledge of MS Office suite of products, including advanced excel and power point skills
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $160,000 to $260,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
