You’ll lead technical discussions with prospective customers, uncover their data challenges, and demonstrate how dbt Cloud can meet their needs through live demos and technical workshops.</p> <p>Internally, you’ll contribute to building and refining our processes and playbooks, while acting as the voice of the customer to ensure we continue developing products that solve real problems and delight our customers.</p> <p>This role is based in Austin, with an expectation of being in the office two days per week.</p> <p> </p> <h2>What You’ll Do</h2> <ul> <li>Spend the majority of your time on pre-sales opportunities to understand customer use cases and identify the value dbt Cloud can bring to their organization</li> <li>Consult with potential customers to uncover their data challenges and highlight how dbt Cloud can alleviate pain points and support their goals</li> <li>Own the demonstration of technical and business impact by delivering tailored demos of dbt Cloud and providing expert guidance</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Account Executives, building strong, trust-based relationships and offering strategic input throughout the deal process</li> <li>Maintain ongoing relationships with technical stakeholders within your accounts</li> <li>Partner with internal teams to improve how we work together, represent the voice of the customer in product discussions, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives</li> <li>Participate in our knowledge-sharing loop by helping improve team processes, refining assets, and enabling others through collaboration</li> <li>Create and deliver external-facing content through live events, blog posts, recorded tutorials, or other educational resources</li> </ul> <p><span>Pre-Sales Opportunities - 70%</span><br />- Consult with potential customers to understand their data challenges and identify opportunities for dbt Cloud to alleviate their pain and help them achieve their goals<br />- Own the technical aspects of a sales opportunity, providing technical expertise and delivering demos of dbt Cloud tailored to the unique needs of potential customers<br />- Collaborate closely with your Account Executives, building strong trust-based relationships and providing strategic input on deal processes</p> <p><span>Post-Sales Account Management - 20%</span><br />- Maintain ongoing relationships with technical contacts in your accounts<br />- Identify opportunities for expansion in larger accounts and flag risks in accounts that may churn or contract</p> <p><span>Company Involvement - 10%</span><br />- Participate in the knowledge loop helping to improve our processes and assets and enabling others on the team<br />- Create and deliver external facing content through live events, blog posts, recorded tutorials, or other content<br />- Act as the voice of the customer to ensure that product and engineering receive customer feedback and prioritize product improvements that our customers will value</p> <h2>What You’ll Need</h2> <ul> <li>4+ years of experience as a data practitioner or consultant in data operations or analytics</li> <li>Strong technical foundation, with a solid understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, the modern data stack, and proficiency in SQL</li> <li>Prior experience with dbt is preferred; bonus points for dbt certification</li> <li>Experience working asynchronously as part of a partially remote, distributed team</li> <li>High degree of comfort presenting to diverse stakeholders or audiences, ideally in an externally facing role</li> <li>Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and think on your feet during customer conversations</li> <li>Desire to be a strong team player—both within the SA team as we evolve our ways of working, and in daily collaboration with Account Executives as part of a deal team</li> <li>Openness to travel;
