This role is critical to ensuring our platform remains robust, compliant, and cost-effective as we continue to scale. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and support teams to drive our high standards of operational excellence and support our mission to deliver high-quality, reliable services to our customers. That’s where you come in. </p><h3><strong>What you’ll do </strong></h3><p><strong>Infrastructure Management </strong></p><ul><li>Own the operational performance of our Azure environments (Dev, QA, Stage, Prod). </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure high availability, redundancy, and performance using Azure-native tools (e.g., Web Application Gateway, Defender for Cloud). </li></ul><ul><li>Manage integration runtimes and linked services. </li></ul><p><strong>Operational Excellence </strong></p><ul><li>Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Drive automation across deployment pipelines and operational workflows. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain and evolve infrastructure documentation and runbooks. </li></ul><p><strong>Security &amp; Compliance </strong></p><ul><li>Enforce security best practices including MFA, time-based access controls, and role-based access. </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with ISO27001, SOC 2, and other relevant standards. </li></ul><ul><li>Manage responses to vendor security questionnaires and client-facing security documentation. </li></ul><p><strong>Cross-Team Collaboration </strong></p><ul><li>Partner with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to resolve incidents and improve platform reliability. </li></ul><ul><li>Support team scaling and rebalancing initiatives, especially around ownership of platform components. </li></ul><p><strong>Incident Response &amp; Reliability </strong></p><ul><li>Lead incident response and root cause analysis for outages or performance issues. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain SLA commitments and communicate service availability metrics. </li></ul><p><strong>Cost Optimisation &amp; Vendor Management </strong></p><ul><li>Monitor and optimise Azure spend across environments. </li></ul><ul><li>Manage relationships with cloud service providers and ensure contract compliance. </li></ul><p><strong>Line Management </strong></p><ul><li>Support the career development of the current team running and updating our service </li></ul><ul><li>On-Call support rota management </li></ul><ul><li>Weekly 1:1s with team members </li></ul><ul><li>Hiring for team needs </li></ul><h3> About you </h3><ul><li>Proven experience managing SaaS infrastructure at scale. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication and documentation skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in team leadership or cross-functional collaboration. </li></ul><h3> Bonus points if you have </h3><ul><li>Strong knowledge of Azure services: App Services, Data Factory, DevOps, Synapse, Defender, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with using Pulumi for deployment </li></ul><h3>What you’ll get </h3><ul><li>Salary £80,000-£100,000, dependent on experience</li></ul><ul><li>At least £1,000 per year to spend on professional and personal development </li></ul><ul><li>33 days holiday per year (including bank holidays), increasing by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days </li></ul><ul><li>Paid four week sabbatical in your fifth anniversary year on top of your holiday entitlement </li></ul><ul><li>Enhanced family leave policies </li></ul><ul><li>Private healthcare and rewards through Vitality </li></ul><ul><li>Income protection and death in service cover </li></ul><ul><li>Matched 5% auto-enrolment workplace pension scheme </li></ul><ul><li>Access to wellbeing offerings, such as our Employee Assistance Programme and a dedicated counselling service </li></ul><ul><li>Innovation Week twice a year - a chance to experiment and work off-project </li></ul><ul><li>Volunteering time – up to 20 hours a year to participate in volunteer work </li></ul><ul><li>Regular All Hands meeting for inspiration and over-communication </li></ul><ul><li>Time out of the working week for team socials each month, with a mix of in-person and virtual options: past events include hiking, family BBQs, board games and at-home cocktail classes! </li></ul><ul><li>Genuinely nice, smart people to work with, who are excited about growing our company </li></ul><h3>Working Details </h3><p>This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know. </p><p>We have a strong preference for someone in/around Edinburgh, though we’re open to the possibility of this being a remote role (as long as youre in the UK).
