Partner with senior management teams within the segment to maintain financial and operational control of the business, develop insight and drive execution.Ensure effective support of financial closing, planning and forecasting processes.  Such activities drive the quality and integrity of P&amp;L/cost center owner level reporting, membership and/or expense forecasts, product reporting and balance sheet reporting. This role will lead financial reporting and decision-support for the Commercial &amp; Specialty Markets line of business, which includes Diversified Commercial Solutions (DCS) and Aetna International. You will own the development of financial P&amp;Ls that will align to and help drive our strategic plan. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our companys growth trajectory.In addition, you will coordinate with other financial disciplines/functions in support of business transactions, e.g., provider arrangements, regulatory issues, analysis of legal entities, etc. Identify, recommend, monitor, and track effective medical cost analysis, product and risk alignment with business unit financial performance targets, through coordination with internal functions supporting the business, such as actuarial, network management, etc.Major Responsibilities:<ul><li>Partner with senior management segment heads to analyze and support full P&amp;L responsibility.</li><li>Drive results; demonstrates urgency and holds self and others accountable for achieving high standards of performance and service</li><li>Identify emerging product/market trend vulnerabilities and opportunities through analysis and insight generation; develop and implement action plans for business growth.</li><li>Coordinate development and monitor implementation of major business unit action plans to seize competitive opportunities and/or respond to performance shortfalls/plan variances.</li><li>Coordinate with other financial disciplines/functions in support of business transactions, e.g., PIP arrangements, regulatory issues, analysis of legal entities, etc.</li><li>Identify, suggest, monitor, and track effective medical cost analysis through coordination with medical directors, network management, underwriting, etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Support the coordination and development of business unit financial plans and forecasting tools/processes.</li><li>Provide financial analysis and recommendations in support of managements evaluation of strategic and business initiatives. </li></ul><ul><li>Drive the dissemination and collection of input/output data, critical assumption and management reporting requirements.</li><li>Lead development and implementation of business unit performance measures.</li><li>Develop processes and set infrastructure to measure, understand and monitor business unit results relative to action plans and milestones.</li><li>Enhance processes that drive accountability measurements throughout the organization.</li><li>Partner with other financial disciplines, e.g., actuarial, to assure pricing, product and risk alignment with business unit financial performance targets.</li><li>Align resources with shared services to drive business unit focus.  Provide project management support for critical action plans other initiatives that cut across business unit and/or Aetna.</li><li>Support business unit competitive intelligence analysis and benchmarking.</li><li>Monitor and evaluate risk and delegation arrangements; recommend appropriate financial protections.</li><li>Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place for shared services and business unit.</li><li>Develop high performing financial unit that performs a function (e.g., medical cost analysis) and/or can assist in the financial and business issues support being provided to the business.</li><li>Provide coaching/mentoring and development to direct reports and ensures talent development best practices for full span of control.</li></ul> Required Qualifications<ul><li>15+ years related financial management experience including strategic and business planning, accounting and financial analysis.</li><li>Experience in managed care industry</li><li>Experience supporting a P&amp;L</li><li>Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence strategy in a large and complex organization</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading teams in an executive role</li><li>Extensive change management experience and ability to lead through change</li><li>Proven experience developing and executing financial strategies in a matrix operating model</li><li>Demonstrated financial analytics experience</li><li>Strategic thinking to achieve long term margin and growth objectives</li><li>Play critical role to influence key segment decisions in areas such as pricing, capital planning and  administrative efficiencies  </li><li>Partnership with CVS enterprise for integrated value opportunities</li><li>Executive presence and leadership within Aetna and broader CVS finance organization</li><li>Key leadership within Aetna finance to drive continuous improvement to in operational efficiencies</li><li>Travel based on the needs of the business</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Industry experience in healthcare or managed care - commercial</li><li>Location: Hartford, CT</li></ul> Education<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science or similar disciplines</li><li>FSA, MAAA preferred</li></ul>The typical pay range for this role is:$350,000.00 - $400,000.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company’s 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
