This Staff Software Development Engineer will be a part of our Aetna Technology organization which is comprised of numerous teams that support, enhance, and create new programs and services that support our suite of clinical and interoperability products.The development of these programs will help build our next-generation platform to ensure the delivery of use cases into products focusing on helping people live healthier lives. In this role and within this team, you will work on applications and products that are on the forefront of technology. In addition, the Staff Development Engineer will Facilitate discussions between Application Architects and developers during the design phase. As a Staff Software Development Engineer, you will:<ul><li>Be a technologist and work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing and performing assigned tasks within deadlines</li><li>Lead, mentor and work with a team of engineers onsite and offshore to deliver multiple use cases and products</li><li>Will be responsible for end-to-end application development &amp; delivery including production deployment, application operationalization, and observability</li><li>Develop applications/web services and cloud native apps using Sprint boot , GCP, REST API and other tech stacks (Open source and proprietary)</li><li>Unit testing using framework such as Junit, Mockito</li><li>Build and deploy services using GitHub, CircleCI, Harness as part of CI/CD process in leading Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP or Azure etc</li><li>Continuously checking and monitoring App health and KPIs, support triage of any production issues as and when needed</li><li>Be an advocate for and implementer of security best practices</li><li>Adopt and apply industry technology best practices</li><li>Partner with application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range technical solutions that meet business requirements</li><li>Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning meeting and establish face-to-face communication across all team and Product Owners</li><li>Analyze and contribute to project and business requirements based on product team milestones and priority</li><li>Actively participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning, Grooming, Scrum, Reviews and Retrospectives</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>7+ years experience in software engineering from ideation to production deployment of software</li><li>7+ years experience in full software development life cycle including ideation, coding, coding standards, testing, code reviews and production deployments</li><li>7+ years experience in one or more programing languages such as Java</li><li>7+ years experience with modern software development practices</li><li>3+ years experience supporting Health care clinical applications</li><li>Experience in building APIs using Springboot, Java11+, Spring, Junit</li><li>Experience building and operating large scale distributed systems</li><li>Experience in creating/managing GCP storage Buckets, Data Composer workflow, Dataflow jobs, IAM (Service Account/Roles) Management</li><li>Experience in data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), data quality checks, database management</li></ul>     Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience in Writing automated unit and mock test cases for code coverage</li><li>Experience in developing APIs using HL7 Da Vinci FHIR standards to ensure high-quality data exchange</li><li>Deployment and troubleshooting application in Cloud environment (GCP)</li><li>Experience with Kubernetes, Apigee, GCP -GKE, Dataflow, Airflow. MongoDb, SQL, Postgres SQL, SOAP services, IntelliJ and Devops: Git, Jenkins, Github Actions</li><li>Experience in log ingestion and building dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana</li><li>Use of OAuth2.0 and JWT tokens</li><li>Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database technologies</li><li>Query and decipher logging entries by application tiers and components using trace logs</li><li>Form requests in tooling like Postman , SOAP UI to invoke endpoints</li><li>Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development methodology</li><li>Ability to work independently and part of a team</li><li>Healthcare Domain experience</li></ul>Education:  <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)</li></ul>Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$130,295.00 - $260,590.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.   Our people fuel our future.
