What We’re Looking For We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Data Engineer - Palantir to lead our AML (Anti-Money Laundering) &amp; Anti-Fraud Implementation capabilities within Palantir Foundry. As the technical subject matter expert for Palantir Foundry, this leader will spearhead implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of rule-based and data-driven AML detection pipelines while developing team capabilities through knowledge transfer and structured training. This role requires exceptional technical expertise coupled with the ability to rapidly train and mentor team members in Foundrys tools and methodologies. You will collaborate with compliance analysts, data modelers, data engineers and platform engineers to architect and operationalize AML logic using Palantirs object-based, scalable architecture. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Technical Leadership &amp; Expertise <ul> <li>Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to rapidly upskill team members in Foundry tools including Code Workbooks, Object Builders, and Pipeline Workflows</li> <li>Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance for implementation of complex AML detection scenarios</li> <li>Serve as a trusted technical authority on Palantir Foundry setting standards and best practices for development</li> </ul> </li> <li>Cross-Functional Knowledge Transfer <ul> <li>Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge repositories for Foundry implementation</li> <li>Design and implement formal knowledge transfer sessions to rapidly build team capabilities in Foundry tools</li> </ul> </li> <li>Implementation <ul> <li>Collaborate with Compliance and Product teams to implement, and maintain AML monitoring scenarios in Foundry using Code Workbooks, Object Builders, and Pipeline Workflows.</li> <li>Implement business provided technical detection logic, supporting both rule-based and advanced data-driven use cases.</li> <li>Establish frameworks that enable scalable scenario implementation across the team</li> </ul> </li> <li>Data Pipeline Design &amp; Transformation <ul> <li>Lead the implementation of reusable components and patterns for data enrichment, feature engineering, and temporal analysis</li> <li>Define standards for pipeline efficiency and maintainability</li> <li>Work within Foundrys Ontology framework to model key AML entities such as customers, transactions, accounts, and alerts.</li> <li>Develop and maintain pipelines for data enrichment, feature engineering, and temporal analysis of financial behavior.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Testing &amp; Quality Assurance <ul> <li>Establish testing methodologies to validate correct implementation of scenario logic, pipeline outputs, and transformations</li> <li>Oversee implementation quality and testing. In collaboration with QA and Compliance stakeholders to verify accuracy, edge cases, and scenario coverage</li> <li>Implement quality metrics and monitoring systems for AML detection pipelines</li> </ul> </li> <li>Monitoring &amp; Performance Optimization <ul> <li>Monitor pipeline execution, resolve data processing issues, and optimize Spark-based workflows for performance and reliability.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Stakeholder Engagement &amp; Documentation <ul> <li>Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation as it relates to implementation of AML scenarios and associated data flows.</li> <li>Work cross-functionally with Investigations, BSA/AML Compliance, and Data Governance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational standards.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Platform Support <ul> <li>Serve as L2 support for AML scenario pipelines and address issues raised by analysts or engineering operations.</li> <li>Participate in platform enhancement efforts related to AML &amp; Anti-Fraud implementation, rule authoring frameworks, and investigation tooling.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> Required Skills &amp; Experience: <ul> <li>Palantir Foundry Mastery: Demonstrated expertise developing within Foundry using Pipelines, Code Workbooks (Python, PySpark, SQL), Object Builder, and Ontology, with the ability to train others effectively</li> <li>Technical Training Experience: Proven track record of developing and delivering technical training that accelerates team capabilities</li> <li>Enterprise Architecture: Experience designing scalable data architectures that support complex business requirements</li> <li>Advanced Big Data Processing: Expert-level experience with Spark, PySpark, and SQL for large-scale data transformation and analysis</li> <li>Leadership &amp; Mentorship: 7+ years of technical experience with demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and mentor junior engineers</li> <li>Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions while anticipating future needs</li> <li>Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels</li> </ul> Other Skills: <ul> <li>Prior experience supporting AML detection system in Foundry.</li> <li>AML Knowledge: Understanding of AML typologies (e.g., structuring, layering, smurfing) and experience operationalizing AML scenarios in a production system.</li> <li>Experience integrating alert outputs with case management tools.</li> <li>Experience designing training programs for complex technical platforms</li> <li>Exposure to anomaly detection and machine learning-based alerting techniques.</li> </ul>   #LI-JJ1 #LI-Hybrid #LI-Onsite #LI-Remote Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $200,000.00<div>Cross River is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
