Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $87,200.00 - $130,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

This role focuses on business intelligence and operational pricing support within the M Logic team at Manheim. The M Logic team leverages artificial intelligence and vast amounts of data to optimize pricing and location decisions in the wholesale vehicle market. The analyst will support the Wholesale Valuations Pricing team and strategic partners, aiming to improve valuation accuracy and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include maintaining the flow of pricing, monitoring market trends, and using analytical techniques to improve valuation accuracy and operational efficiency. The role involves building and maintaining tools to enhance the pricing pipeline and analyzing historical performance. The analyst will engage directly with clients, facilitate meetings, and present in business reviews related to pricing. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that empower clients to make smarter, real-time decisions, enhancing profitability and efficiency.

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Collaboration & Partnership: Work with senior leaders in functions like Marketing, Finance, and Sales to identify business opportunities/challenges. Collaborate with a team of data scientists to develop new data sources, plan improvements to pricing algorithms, and innovate new processes and ideas.

  • Project Management: Track and provide support for client requests such as process documentation and site access by communicating across different teams. Facilitate and oversee progress on pricing and data engineering tasks to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

  • Client Interaction & Training: Act as the client contact for pricing-related issues and facilitate training on MLogic pricing controls for the clients.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Determine methodologies for data collection, synthesis, and analysis, and deliver structured datasets and reports for independent analysis by business leaders.

  • Data Insights: Identify data patterns/trends and provide data-driven business recommendations.

  • Troubleshooting & Complex Analysis: Troubleshoot potential pricing issues and conduct in-depth analysis using multiple data sources to validate or invalidate pricing claims.

  • Engineering Insight: Understand the pricing process from an engineering standpoint and identify as well as triage problems when they arise.

  • Data-Driven Projects: Spearhead data-driven projects such as pilot and test programs related specifically to optimization products.

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or another related field with 4+ years of experience focused on pricing optimization, data analysis, and client management. A candidate may also have a Master’s Degree with 2+ years of experience or a Ph.D. with 1+ year of experience. A non-degreed candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience in client-facing roles, pricing optimization, or a similar field.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and data science, to manage client requests, enhancements, and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills and project management experience are a must

  • Understanding methods, techniques, and tools used for data analysis (SQL, Tableau, Excel).

  • Basic proficiency with Tableau or other BI tools to develop straightforward dashboards or charts.

  • Understanding data wrangling, feature engineering, and the fundamentals of quality assurance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interpret data patterns, break down business problems, and propose basic solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, open to feedback, share progress and ask questions to ensure alignment with team goals.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

  • Desire to continually learn and grow analytical skillset.
