Search and Discovery
The Search and Discovery Team is responsible for creating a world-class search and discovery shopping experience for our customers, from “intent” based shopping to delighting the customer with serendipitous product discovery on every visit. We are obsessed with optimizing the entire search customer journey, from query understanding and search relevance to personalized and category/mission aware search and recommendation experiences. We believe the experience of finding the right fresh groceries delivered to your door the next morning should be personal and different from shopping for a new laptop or your next pair of jeans. Search and Recommendations drive over 70% of product discovery for our millions of daily customers, so the scale and impact of our work is massive!
The Role
We are hiring for program manager S&D Global Ops with the Search and Discovery org in Seoul, Korea or in Taiwan. You will work on supporting labeling & audit operations on the cutting-edge AI/ML technologies, partnering with operations and tech talent to shape technology offerings that help our customers find the right products at the right time. For each initiative that you drive, you will work directly with Coupang’s Search & Discovery team to define the strategy and then collaborate with cross-functional teams across business operations and tech. You will be responsible for the success of the TW data labeling and operations management for the S&D organization going forward.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Labeling Operations Management
- Manage the quality of labeling data required to enhance the performance of the search model.
- Check production status, estimate ETA, and share with the collaborative team.
- Establish Labeling Standards
- Develop relevance evaluation criteria and update guidelines to represent the customers perspective.
- Process Improvement
- Develop and implement efficient strategies for collecting high-quality large-scale data.
- Identify issues with labeling error data, derive improvement measures, and streamline processes.
- Training and Q&A
- Conduct individual and group training to improve productivity and error rates, set and achieve goals, and share work skills.
- Analyze and address operator questions to strengthen work capabilities through feedback.
- People Management
- Manage and develop a team of approximately 50 people.
- Business Communication
- Share project status with the S&D Taiwan team.
Qualifications
- Taiwanese speaker with an understanding in Taiwanese culture and trends
- Over 5-7 years of experience in project operations
- Experience in data-centric operations such as managing data labeling teams building for products leveraging ML/LLMs.
- Track record of managing innovative programs for a large technology-first company.
- Track record of using data and quantative research methodologies for operational excellence
- Not afraid of making decisions and taking calculated risks.
- Experience working with multiple teams across different geographies.

- Data-native and analytical thinker who works well in a global, fast-paced, data-driven, cross-functional, and highly ambiguous entrepreneurial environment.
- Bias for action and willingness to get your hands dirty to get the job.

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
- 5-7 years of experience in Program Management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Korean
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in English communication
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python and BI Tools
