Millions of buildings in more than 170 countries have been transformed into immersive Matterport digital twins to improve every part of the building lifecycle from planning, construction, and operations to documentation, appraisal, and marketing.About the Role:As a Staff Software Engineer on the 3D Experiences team at Matterport, a part of CoStar Group, you will be at the forefront of creating engaging user experiences and insights around Matterport’s 3D model technology.  You will play a critical role in researching, developing, and implementing new features to our model viewer and editing platforms, maintaining existing feature sets, influencing code architecture, and impacting the way we build software together. You will work within a dynamic R&amp;D environment, collaborating closely with fellow engineers, researchers, product, and design teams to translate groundbreaking ideas into tangible features that empower our users and expand the capabilities of our platform.  Your work will be seen by 100’s of millions of viewers of Matterport models around the world and will be at the core of our customers day-to-day workflows.This position is located in Sunnyvale, CA and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in the office and the option to work from home on Friday.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Implement new features for our 3D model viewer and editing tools utilizing Typescript, Three.js WebGL, and React. </li><li>You will develop new ways for our customers to interact, augment, and enhance their Matterport models with data.</li><li>Work with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define project requirements, explore technical feasibility, and deliver high-impact features.</li><li>Create working prototypes for new concepts, ideas, or platforms we want to explore.</li><li>Present concepts, progress, and delivered results to peers and stakeholders.</li><li>Advocate for new technical architecture and innovation.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited, not for profit university or college</li><li>8+ years of experience developing and maintaining user-friendly, performant web applications</li><li>Strong demonstrated proficiency working with Typescript, WebGL, and/or React</li><li>Experience working on a team, supporting teammates through peer review, and releasing software in a team environment with multiple work streams.</li><li>Versed and capable of solving problems in 3D space.</li><li>A track record of commitment to prior employers</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Mater’s Degree in Computer Science or related field</li><li>10+ years of experience working with Typescript, WebGL, and React building performant web applications.</li><li>Strong proficiency working with Three.js</li><li>Exposure to architectural patterns of large JavaScript applications.</li><li>Experience writing unit tests and mocking.</li><li>Experience shipping software in a large codebase to a large audience.</li><li>Experience working with Snowflake, Looker, and other advanced analytics tools.</li><li>Experience with mobile web-based application development.</li><li>Experience with AR/VR application development.</li></ul>What’s in it for you?When you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.We offer you generous compensation and performance-based incentives.
