Our suite of services includes digital advertising, social and reputation management, and market analytic solutions which delivers innovative tools for our customers.Learn more about <a href="https://www.apartments.com/grow/about-us" target="_blank">Apartments.com</a>. Our Apartments.com team in Austin, TX is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join us in supporting continual growth and development of our industry leading websites. Work together with a ‘startup-minded’ development team delivering innovative web and business applications. Work is conducted using Ruby on Rails, C#, Python, and JavaScript, with most project code running on Linux. Applications are backed by SQL Server and a rich ecosystem of ETL processes, data caching, and application support architecture.This role will be based in our Austin, TX office, offering a schedule of Monday-Thursday in office and the option to work from home on Friday.Responsibilities<ul><li>Development of website and software using the above-mentioned technologies.</li><li>Building applications with innovative use of open-source software.</li><li>Best-practice software engineering for performance, maintainability, and stability.</li><li>Design and development of AJAX components.</li><li>Competence with Git or similar version control system and experience with SDLC.</li><li>Ability to work well in a team environment.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.</li><li>5+ years of web development experience on any platform.</li><li>3+ years of experience using a language such as Ruby on Rails, C#, Python, or PHP.</li><li>Competence on a Linux development stack.</li><li>Experience using cloud components/Amazon EC2.</li><li>Demonstrated competence with T-SQL/general SQL.</li><li>Demonstrated creativity and problem solving.</li><li>Proficiency with JavaScript</li><li>A track record of commitment to prior employers.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications and Skills<ul><li>Strong opinions about software design and architecture</li><li>Ability to visualize and explain complex ideas and build agreement around those ideas with an experienced technical team.</li><li>High level proficiency in web applications development.</li><li>Strong knowledge of technical ecosystems &amp; architecture (dev-ops, caching strategies, networking, performance optimization, network topologies, load balancing, SDLC practices)</li><li>Strong JavaScript development skills.</li><li>Flexibility to move back and forth between detailed collaboration or independent engineering work.</li></ul>What’s in it for you?  When you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed. We offer you generous compensation and performance-based incentives.
