About the Role:

You will be responsible for leading the Technical Revenue function and partnering with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Legal and other teams on our largest and most strategic deals. Through these efforts you will ensure the best revenue recognition outcome for CoreWeave and contribute to the greater process around evaluating such deals.  In addition, you will be a leader in driving process improvements in the related Order to Cash accounting and billing processes as well as cross-functional processes and systems through collaborating with those respective teams. Furthermore, you will develop future team members of the Technical Revenue team. This role will report to the Head of Commercial Accounting and play a key role in supporting CoreWeave’s revenue growth and financial reporting processes.  In this role you will also ensure the accuracy of our revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and our internal accounting policies through writing technical memos, assessing new go to market strategies and developing and performing SOX internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve sales contracts before execution to ensure compliance with ASC 606, identify potential accounting issues and provide guidance to partner teams on deal structures.
  • Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Legal, Product Management, Business Systems and Revenue Accounting teams to assess revenue implications of innovative go to market strategies and nonstandard offerings.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations and other teams to enhance the Company’s approval and review processes over contracts pre-signature. 
  • Evaluate contracts for ASC 606 vs ASC 842 considerations when necessary.
  • Thoroughly review and document executed sales contracts from a technical revenue perspective and provide clear accounting guidance to the Commercial Accounting team to ensure compliance and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and review technical memos regarding policies, new offerings and material nonstandard contracts.
  • Design and improve SOX internal controls, as well as perform certain controls over our revenue accounting processes.
  • Assist with external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and technical accounting memos.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging accounting guidance to assess the impact on our revenue recognition policies.
  • Propose and support automation and system improvements to enhance revenue reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to internal teams on revenue recognition matters.

Requirements

  • CPA required (or equivalent international certification).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience preferred.
  • Strong expertise in ASC 606, revenue recognition principles and US GAAP. 
  • Experience in revenue accounting for a public technology company, with cloud infrastructure industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex contracts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to handle intricate technical analyses and create clear, actionable reports or position papers.
  • Applicants must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship from the company now or in the future.

The base pay and target total cash for this position range from $149,000 to $198,000 and $178,000 to $238,000, accordingly. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position includes a discretionary bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Our Workplace

While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets. New hires will be invited to attend onboarding at one of our hubs within their first month. Teams also gather quarterly to support collaboration
