In this highly technical and strategic role, you will lead a world-class team to design, build, and operate database solutions at scale. Youll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to ensure we build integrated solutions for AI workloads. <h3>About the role:</h3> <ul> <li>Define and drive CoreWeave’s Managed databases roadmap and strategy.</li> <li>Lead and grow a high-performing team of software engineers and managers.</li> <li>Design and implement advanced database solutions applicable to AI workloads, while ensuring fault tolerance, high-scale and low-latency.</li> <li>Build solutions that offer programmatic access to creating, scaling, and modifying databases.</li> <li>Champion initiatives to improve reliability, durability, and self-healing capabilities of systems, and assume operational responsibilities.</li> <li>Develop operational review practices to assess performance against targets and iterating on those targets.</li> <li>Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in product engineering, fostering a customer-focused approach to systems design and technical excellence.</li> </ul> <h3>Who You Are: </h3> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in infrastructure, or cloud systems.</li> <li>6+ years in engineering leadership roles, including hiring, scaling, and mentoring teams.</li> <li>Proven track record of building and managing large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure.</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey engineering strategies and practices to technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</li> <li>Prior experience in building managed databases in at least one vertical (SQL, NoSQL, Graph, Vector) would be a plus.</li> <li>Understanding of cloud computing infrastructure using Kubernetes would be a plus.</li> </ul> <h4>Wondering if you’re a good fit? The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation.
